VOTTO: Joey Votto remained in Cincinnati following the day/night doubleheader on 5/15 vs SD and the next day had an MRI that revealed a distal quadriceps strain in his left knee...he missed 5g (1-2 at Phi, 1-1 at Wsh) before he was disabled on Wed, retroactive to 5/16...he was replaced on Wed's roster by Jay Bruce, who came off the disabled list following 5/5 arthroscopic surgery to repair the torn meniscus in his left knee...from 7/16-9/3, 2012, while Votto recovered from a knee injury and a pair of surgeries, the Reds led the Major Leagues with a 32-16 record (.667) and increased their lead in the NL Central Division from 1.0g to 8.5g.
