Red Hat Storage Server makes elastic storage possible while the storage servers provide the

power to run the ownCloud software stack. The result is cost-effective, scalable, on-premise file

sync and share functionality that is easy to deploy and does not lock your IT department into

expensive proprietary solutions. In fact, IDC determined that Red Hat Storage Server offers a

lower cost per terabtye (TB), saving up to 52% in upfront storage costs and reducing operating

costs by as much as 20%1.

Red Hat Storage Server combines large quantities of storage and compute resources into a high-

performance, virtualized, and centrally-managed storage pool. The pool can be resized dynami-

cally by adding or removing storage without interfering with applications or users. Support for

commodity disk drives removes complexity and makes Red Hat Storage Server a cost-effective

files are scanned with the ClamAV antivirus engine, eliminating the potential for automated dis-

tribution of infected files. ownCloud supports transparent logging for file access, administrative

actions, sharing activities, and file transfers to provide audit trails. The logging can be written to

syslog log files as well as the ownCloud log file.
