Red Flags Determine if: The student-athlete can use a transfer exception to avoid serving an academic year in residence. You have transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities. The student-athlete’s academic record has been evaluated before enrollment. Determine if: The student-athlete is no longer in good academic standing. The student-athlete is no longer academically eligible. The student-athlete’s course schedule or graduation plan must be changed. If you are thinking of requesting an NCAA waiver for this student-athlete, determine what the mitigation for failing or dropping the course is. Transfers FWD (fail, withdraw, drop) For complete information on transfer legislation and certifying transfer student-athletes, consult Bylaws 14.4 and 14.5. Student-athletes who transfer into your school require additional attention in the eligibility certification process. ■ The remedial work will impact the student-athlete in meeting other certification requirements.

■ The change of major impacted the student-athlete’s eligibility.

■ The change of major impacts the student-athlete’s graduation timeline.
