2020 Steubenville East Youth Conference Steubenville East is a high-energy youth conference where thousands of teens are invited to encounter Jesus Christ through dynamic speakers, engaging music, the Sacraments, small group discussions and fellowship with other teens. The 2020 Youth Conference will be held at the University of Rhode Island, July 10-12, 2020. The theme of this year’s conference is “Restored”. Youth must be entering into grades 9 – 12 the fall of 2020 to attend. The cost of the retreat is $260. (Early-bird registration is $240.) 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time “For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heav-en.” (Matthew 5:20) The scribes and Pharisees lived ac-cording to the letter of the law, and they used this to elevate themselves above the other people. Jesus is clear – it’s the love that you have in your heart that will get you to heaven. Simply following church rules out of obligation, not love, does not put you on the path to heaven. Attending Mass on Sunday and then gossiping about a fellow parishioner on the parking lot is an example of a modern day Pharisee.

Office for Healing and Prevention As a reminder, our parish follows the guidelines of the national Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People approved by the US Bishops and the policies of the Diocese of Worcester in screening those who work with children in our care and in helping victims of abuse find healing. If you or someone you know has been sexually abused by a Church employee or volunteer in the past, please contact the Victim Services Coordinator for our diocese, Judith Audette at 508-929-4363.

The Worcester Diocesan Catholic Men’s Conference will be held at Assumption College on Salisbury St., Worcester on Saturday, March 28, 2020. Brochures are available at the different entrances to the Church.
