ABILITY PROFILING

Ability Profiling (APRO) is a part of Seagull Training Administrator Online and is a psychometric test tool that will assist you in revealing the candidates strong and less strong potentials

• Developed for and by the maritime industry• Reveals abilities which are considered important for

performance onboard a vessel• Identifies the differences in abilities between candidates• Add a missing piece of information when selecting

candidates• Identifies candidates you do not wish to hire

The psychometric test have a standardised method of administration and scoring with the results quantified and compared with all other test takers.

The Crew Evaluation System (CES) is an online assessment tool to evaluate the background knowledge of seafarers with the objective to identify training needs.

• Question database with over 6000 multiple-choice questions, specific to the knowledge areas defined in STCW

• CES will assist you in the screening and recruitment process and to measure the knowledge level of existing officers and crew

• Can also be used as an integral part of a promotional strategy

Since CES is an online tool, a test can be accessed online from any of your offices around the world, making it easy to use for applicants no matter where they are located, whilst results still are easily available for HR departments.

Seagull is now ready to introduce Facet 5 as a tool for the recruitment process. Facet 5 measures 5 factors which are described as “the big five” – Will, Energy, Relations, Control and Emotions. Seagull can make an ideal profile for all your positions that you then can compare your candidates with.

• Facet 5 test consists of a number of statements that the candidates must react to

• A test typically takes between 10 and 15 minutes to complete• The results are presented on a scale from 1 to 10. The results

cannot be interpreted as «good» or «bad», but as a description of a person’s attitudes, opinions and preferences

• In addition to a breakdown of the scores for each factor, each person is given a family portrait, describing the sum of their personality

CES Benchmarking & Statistics is the only tool available in the industry where you can benchmark crew knowledge against company and industry standards.

• Analyse the CES score of your crew pool and compare it with the global industry standards

• Compare your manning agents to focus on the knowledge level of the crew of each supplier

• Focus the training effort on a group of personnel or those training categories where your crew is scoring lower than the company or industry standards

• Compare details based on rank, nationality and crew pool

• Reducing the amount of paperwork as all appraisals are entered directly into the program and securely stored

• Once the appraisal has been completed and approved on board, it is locked and the recorded appraisal will export to the crewing department electronically as an encrypted file for security purposes. After the appraisal has been exported to the office it can no longer be opened, viewed, altered, edited or printed onboard the vessel

• Authorized office personnel are the only ones having access to the electronically stored appraisals

The Performance Profiling - PPRO program was developed to assist you with making objective performance evaluations and appraisals of seafarers. PPRO offers functionality whereby you can enter your existing appraisal forms and then the senior officers onboard can use the program to register these appraisal forms for export to the crewing department. This has the advantage that all appraisals will be stored electronically in a central database offering easy access toauthorised personnel.
