TAW CODE OF ETHICS

No Cheating, Glitching, or Exploiting

TAW takes cheating and accusations of cheating very seriously.

We do not tolerate any of our members taking part in cheating, glitching, or using exploits.

If you come across anyone doing so, do not accuse that player of cheating. Instead:

Spectate them (F7)Make a demo (F12) / take screenshots (F11).Present your evidence to your chain of command staff. They are the ones who can do something about it.

TAW Official Cheating Policy

You need to be in the battalion’s HEADQUARTERS channel on time. Screenshots are taken to account for the presence of members. If you cannot attend a practice or arrive too late for the screenshot - which is always announced before taken - you need to fill in the excusal form. The excusal form is available in the following locations:

In the worst case, members can request discharge from TAW.

TAW Official Dedication and Real Life Policy

TAW members treat each other and non-members with respect, regardless of rank or position.

Wearing the TAW tag makes every member a representative of our clan. Respectful behaviour is expected of all members in Teamspeak, on the forums, and whenever playing.

We do not tolerate inappropriate or abusive language in Teamspeak, on any forums, or on any servers.

While we encourage our members to recruit new players into TAW, we do not recruit on servers other than our own.

All members should respect the person leading an event and follow their instructions.

WEAPONS RED is the condition all members are in ‘during warm-up’ in practices.Weapons Red should be maintained during trainings unless otherwise instructed. It means no distracting the attention of other players in the game, so that instructions can be given and understood. This includes:

Suggestions & ComplaintsMembers of TAW are encouraged to offer suggestions at any time. Everyone is welcome to do so on our forums or in Teamspeak.

However, our communications platforms are no place for complaints, and certainly no battlefield for personal differences. If you have a problem, inform either your platoon leader or a battalion staff officer in private.

Server FundingMembership in TAW is free. However, we alwaysappreciate donations to support funding our servers. The Donations Page can be reached via the Supporttab on the TAW main page.

TAW shopTAW has its own online shop that offers highly fashionable Clothing, Mugs and Buttons/Badges. Goods are available from TAW and specific divisions. Purchasing merchandise from the TAW shop is another great way to make a donation to TAW and its divisions. If you buy something from a specific division, then the donation goes to that division.

TAW Organization

RanksWe are all equal in TAW! You do not need to address anyone with “sir” or their ranks.

The military ranks in TAW show the responsibilities of members and usually go along with certain functions.

After 4 practices, every recruit becomes a private first class and a full member of TAW with access to all forums and the Black Pages. Until then, recruits are probationary members; during this period it is not possible to request leave.

We encourage members to step up to higher positions and to accept greater responsibility within TAW.

Promotions are awarded for good attendance and performance. Ranks higher than Sergeant can only be attained by accepting a function.

Supplemental Information

You can read through this section of the manual at your own leisure. It should help you to find out where you can obtain information and how to resolve common problems.

TAW.net QW Division Page: http://taw.net/taw/division.aspx?div=QW

Over the Units tab you can reach the page of the Quake Wars Division on taw.net. Under “ETQW Info” you can find basic information on our division. The most useful feature is the match countdown. It shows how many days and hours are left until the next practice of either battalion. Under the “Events” tab you will find the current scores of the BFE and possible other events. The “Calendar tab” offers more detailed information on the current tournament, for

example the schedule of campaigns, the scores of past matches and more. The Calendar tab also hosts booking forms for requesting one-to-one training sessions from Training Instructors. The “QW Team” tab contains all the information on who is currently in what position and also which members are currently assigned to which platoons. The “Hall of Fame” contains the names of members and platoons who have won past Battle for Earth seasons and also a memorial section. Under “Info/Servers” you will find the Excusal Form and some information on our servers as well as another link to the donations page.

TAW.net QW Roster: http://taw.net/taw/roster.aspx?unit=QW

The Info tab/Rosters link leads to a page with one banner for each division in TAW. Clicking on the banner of the QW division will lead you to the roster of all its members. You will find the name, rank, function and country of each member of the division. By clicking on the name you

can reach the profile page of each member. It contains more specific information on the member’s function and also all the medals and badges the member has earned. Further, there is a link to the e-mail address of each member, just in case you are not sure how it’s spelled.

QUAKE Wars DivisionBoot Camp Manual v2.4Property of The Art of Warfare - TAW

TAW.net Black Pages

Note that you will not have access to the Black Pages until you have been promoted to the rank of private first class. While the Black Pages serve mainly administrative functions of the staff, they also contain information that is interesting for regular members. If you step up to a function in TAW, you will get to use the Black Pages regularly, for example as a Drill Instructor to grant Teamspeak access to new members. You can reach the Black Pages via a link in the members tab.

Note that you will have to login separately from your login on taw.net. The second login requires you to add underscore TAW (_TAW) to your callsign. The password is the

same as the one for the regular taw.net login. If you are having trouble logging in, try changing your password in your profile on taw.net. Most of the time that resolves the issue as you password for the Black Pages will be changed as well and should thus be accepted afterwards.
