FOREWORD With Recreational Vehicles being prevalent across Canada there is a need for technicians that are well trained to be able to service them. This takes a certain type of person that is capable of performing a large variety of skills that must not only be built with aesthetics in mind but must be durable for travel. There are a wide skill set that a Recreation Vehicle Repair Technician requires to be competent in their jobs. They must know structural carpentry, plumbing, electricity/electronics, mechanics and upholstery. The competent technician would be valuable in any trade as a specialty but is responsible in keeping RV’s both large and small safe, dry and functioning on the road. This document shows most of the General Areas of Competencies, Learning Objectives, Learning Tasks and Content that is required to train an RV technician form his/her first year to the third year. It contains a Occupational Analysis Chart that breaks down the levels by competencies, a Program Outline that breaks down the competencies into tasks and content. It also gives guidelines for subjects such as classroom size and standards, tool recommendations and any text books or learning guides that are suggested for this program.

SAFETY ADVISORY Be advised that references to the WorkSafe BC safety regulations contained within these materials do not/may not reflect the most recent Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (the current Standards and Regulation in BC can be obtained on the following website: http://www.worksafebc.com. Please note that it is always the responsibility of any person using these materials to inform him/herself about the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation pertaining to his/her work.
