Recorder Order Form

As part of the general music curriculum, students grade three through five learn how to play the soprano recorder. Dating back to the medieval period, this instrument is a beautiful addition to the instruments of the music classroom. The students not only learn to read music notation, but develop musical sensitivity and many performance skills through the use of these melodic instruments. All students are required to have a recorder. We will be using Angel soprano recorders and would like the students to have the same kind for uniformity of pitch and timbre. If you have another brand recorder at home, it can be used as a practice instrument, as the Angel recorders will stay at school and will be taken home at the end of fifth grade. Also, feel free to order a second instrument for practice at home. I will make copies of our classroom music available for the students who would like to work at home. The cost of the recorder is $6, payable online or by check made out to District #97. Please send the money in an envelope marked with your childs name, name of their classroom teacher and Recorder Money. It may be turned into the classroom teacher or to me.
