Not really much editing involved, great location and use of fireworks. Used great use of school as it looks like a mansion for a party. Target audience is teens as it is like a party setting and teens like to party, especially in that visually pleasuring mansion with the fireworks. 2. 7/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_aElXHZmqs Smooth editing, good use of props like a photo-shoot with the camera and the setting. Targeted to teens and young adults as it is based on a modelling shoot, appealing to mainly girls as they like to model even for just fun. 3. 7/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpBNqqPGsmc Liked the cartoon editing and the use of different locations. Better camera and lighting would have made this video look more professional. Targeted to an audience who enjoy comedy, as the narrative is comical. 4. 7/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkJXibuJYF0 Time lapse, good camera enhanced the video, and good lighting. Narrative wasn’t that clear. Basic cuts, some good editing with colour to show memory and musicality. Targeted to a global audience as bullying happens everywhere, everyday, and it would motivate someone who is getting bullied to stand up for themselves.

1. 7/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTmIMJ3AEFw Whole video all in one take which was clever.

5. 8/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFEq7dXUVv4 Liked the mixture of narrative and band playing, and the filter of speckles of dust floating in the air when band is playing. Liked the editing time lapse and quick cuts. Indie music lovers, and rock audiences, aspired to young adults who have a job, a house and the struggles of work.

6. 8/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhVnHX9Ipk8 Temporal extension at beginning is interesting, and a mix of him performing in mic and showing the narrative acts as if the character in the story is singing to an audience but is passionately thinking of the story in his head, which is clever. Have better lighting in bedroom and the red light when he is performing looks out of place compared to the rest of the video. Aspired to singer/songwriters.

7. 8/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llYZ0l3cEEA Like the silhouette with different colours, and the street performers ‘expressing’ themselves. Better lighting and a higher definition camera would make this video seem more professional. Mainstream audience, any age, to motivate them.

8. 9/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gjoGdFSxPc&spfreload=10 The close up of the objects/props are interesting to the eye and the repetitive sound of the police cars brings some narrative. More of a short story than a MV as there is no performing or singing to the camera. Targeted towards teenagers to perhaps give a message that drugs are bad and they waste valuable money.

9. 9/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zlu4RPOtpCY The video is targeted towards teens as it contains both young male and female groups, something that teens aspire to see like one direction or little mix. The setting was just a white backdrop, and the MES is all white too, which is a central theme to this video. High key lighting and close ups of each person playing there instrument. Wipe transition between males and females.

10. 9/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSeUBUsUlpw Aspires to older audiences as she is remising, something that someone with more memories would do. Good low key lighting like in a cinema, and extreme close ups of old camera at beginning sets cinema theme.

11. 10/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKGewSsmo6U Target audience is teens as it is based on a young party and heart breaking relationships. Bentley car, setting, and MES are visual pleasures, showing the perfect masquerade party.

12. 10/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQ4aavnUppo Indie and relates to teens and young adults as the video is quite mature, just them playing like to an audience. Liked the shot use and the creativity within the video. Possibly the most creative video I have watched on a student scale. Ball pit and blocks were different and the time lapse looked good.

13. 12/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAbFPiQefcc Good setting and MES, wide ranged audience as the song has been adapted many times, but appeals to girls more as the video is about murdering their husbands due to ‘crazy’ love. Showgirl theme.

14. 12/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3itzVVVOzgE Lighting is good, hard to understand narrative. Indie audiences who like that genre. Narrative is in slow motion to emphasise something that is quite unclear to the viewer.

15. 12/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2DMHdGDkxk Setting is amazingly unique and the UV lighting compliments parts of the video by making it look professional. Targeted towards young females as the music is house pop, as well as

Page 3: Record of watched student videos

having a male in a cage locked up as the narrative is about perhaps the male cheating and she is going to ‘Think About It’. Very performance based.

16. 12/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sA_-CqlTfk Targeted towards indie audiences and singer/ songwriters, and audiences that have experienced break ups and love. Very performance based but needs clearer narrative. Setting is good as it links with the sad heartened song. More variety of shots would make this video more interesting to watch

17. 12/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX-BBN8lX18 About love and ‘wasted words’, so perhaps and audience that is going through break ups or tough times. Don’t understand the significance of the bulbs.

18. 12/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhHl9voAKXw Liked the theme park representing that love is a rollercoaster- symbolic. Relates to again, break ups, but also mainstream audiences who perhaps like that music. Narrative is clear and performance is good, could make the flashbacks better than just having a simple black and white filter.

19. 13/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8QVPz2LSfk Similar to original video. The low key lighting, being the performance of the band, contrasted with the high key lighting, being inside the house. Some good editing effects (e.g. Love heart eyes). Targeted to young indie fans, or people who like abnormal videos. Narrative wasn’t too clear, and the copying of some scenes from the original make them seem uncreative and that their planning and research was poor.

20. 13/10/2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-zMvaLtHoE Setting is in woods, which is what the song contains (Old Pine). Planning and research looks advanced as the variety of shots and the editing skills of speed ramping and the good camera helps the video to seem professional. Conceptual as he does not want to promote himself but the woods and his song. Targeted to young nature lovers who enjoy singer/songwriters. Could perhaps have some more performance to show off himself more.
