As the programme director of MSc International Business and his line manager during his internship I have known Mr Singh since September 2013 and he has also become a valued friend of mine. His credit grade average is 7.21 and this equates to a distinction (first) classification in the UK standard, an outstanding academic performance. From my conversations with Mr Singh he appears to be a very pleasant, driven, and mature individual and he seems to be genuinely interested in his chosen academic subject. Mr Singh has shown particular strengths in statistics, research, and strategy related modules, achieving excellent grades, for example, in LUBS5219M Quantitative Methods for International Business (83), and LUBS5224 Economics of Business (82). Mr Singh conducted his dissertation research on the impact of ipad integration on students’ learning outcomes and their subsequent career development. He later produced a report based on his research and the work has been well received by the school and other programmes that now look to adopt the integration model our programme has developed. He was further invited to give a talk to the new cohort of students during the induction programme in September 2014 on the usage of ipad in enhancing productivity in study. These demonstrate Mr Singh’s ability in research and in generating sider impact through his work. Mr Singh was one of the two student interns (Programme Excellence Champions) who work with me to strengthen the MSc International Business programme which is ranked number one in the world by Financial Times in 2014 in the international business area (“Top for International Business” league table in Masters in Management). His contribution to the programme has been invaluable and his engagement with the faculty and alumni showcased his outstanding abilities in a number of important areas such as cross]cultural management, communication, teamwork, and professionalism. I have no reason to doubt Mr Singh’s honesty or integrity based on my knowledge of him as a student and the information he has disclosed to me.
