The ReWrite Connection has expanded its staff this semester! Joining two full time professional tutors are three part-time professional tutors, six Student Writing Fellows and three peer tutors all of whom are welcomed assets to the writ-ing center. All of these persons demonstrate advanced writing skills and will aid in the QEP’s goal of improving students’ attitudes towards writing. The professional tutors have degrees in English and assist upperclassmen and graduate students across disciplines. The Student Writing Fellows represent various disciplines and assist students within their particular disciplines. The peer tutors are English majors who assist under-classmen across disciplines.
As the Interim Director of the ReWrite Connec-tion I count it a privilege to witness a tremen-dous growth in our staff and the number of students we are able to serve. I could not be happier with the level of commitment and skill new staff members have displayed and the marked, positive change I’ve noticed in stu-dents. So, I and the rest of the ReWrite Con-nection staff encourage students who have used our services before to return and contin-ue flourishing into skilled, confident writers, and we invite those who have never been to come see how the ReWrite Connection is “The ‘Write’ Place for the ‘Write’ Attitude”.
Best,

The ‘Write’ Place For The ‘Write’ Attitude
ReWrite Quick Tips“If there’s a book you really want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it” - Toni Morrison“Fill your paper with the breathings of your hearts.” - William Wordsworth
Zavieta Russell, one of three part-time, profession-al tutors, is a December 2011 graduate of Savan-nah State University. Like others in the ReWrite, prior to graduation, she served as a peer tutor. “Za-V”, as she is affectionately known, easily connects with students because of

her calm approach and congenial nature. If you have the pleasure to be assisted by Za-V in the near future, be sure to give her “Best Wishes” for her upcoming summer nuptials to her high school sweetheart, Vincent!

TIPS FOR SUCCESS
Plan to spend 30 minutes with your writing coach. Be on time for your appointment with
your paper already printed.
There are printers here for usage. If you wish
to print your paper, do so before your ap-pointment starts. That way, you will get the
entire 30 mintues to work on your writing as-
signment.
If you plan to use the computers, know your SSU login. You can get this information from SSU computer services by calling 358-HELP
(4357) or by visiting Powell Hall, room 106.
Bring your syllabus or writing assignment/guidelines. We can help you fulfill your writ-ing requirements better if we know what your professor is expecting. Help us help you!
