Please Join Us in Our: JANUARY 2016 Bible Study (Wednesday Evenings in January – 7:00pm-8:30 pm)

This January Bible Study examines key topics such as the nature of ministry, the power for ministry, and the motivation for ministry. As adults, we will be reminded that ministry is the power of God working through us to accomplish His purposes. This study also reminds us that the foundation and focus of ministry is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As Greenforest goes through this season of transition, these helpful reminders will enable us to better position ourselves for what God has in store for us in 2016 and beyond. Join us each Wednesday evening in January in the Main Sanctuary. ALL Ministry leaders and members are urged to participate in this Study. Weekly FH Leaders Meeting will be from 6:15 to 6:55pm each Wednesday in January. Our January Bible Study facilitator is the Rev. Dr. Robert Wilson, Greenforest Member and the Professor/Director of the Greenforest - New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Extension Center.

Discover Your Spiritual Gift(s) ~ Renew Your Commitment To Serve The call to serve the body of Christ through our Spiritual Gifts is the 2016 Discipleship Ministry focus. The Discipleship Ministry is encouraging members and FH classes to take (or retake) the Spiritual Gift class. The next Saturday class will be held February 13th from 9am to 12noon in Fellowship Hall. FH members may enroll through your FH Shepherds or individuals can enroll in the class by contacting [email protected].  Installation of 2016 Church Officers, Ministry Coordinators and Ministry Servant Leaders will be on Sunday, January 24th at the 10:45am worship service. The Fellowship Team will hosts its first “Greenforest Goes to the Movies” outing for the year in late February at Stonecrest Mall. Moviegoers will see the critically acclaimed movie “RISEN” that picks up where the 2004 blockbuster “Passion of Christ” left off in the biblical account of Jesus’ death, resurrection and ascension. This film will chronicle an unbelieving tribune, which is commanded by Pontius Pilate to locate the body of Jesus, dispel rumors of his

resurrection and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem. Please be on the lookout for the final selected movie date, time and price. All are invited to join us – members, friends and guests! The next Fire Drill will be conducted on Sunday, January 31, 2016 (after both services). This Fire Drill will replicate as 'close to a real fire evacuation' as possible. Meaning, instead of conducting a walk through, members will be expected to proceed directly to the 'actual' Safe Zones at the same time. Someone from the DeKalb County Fire Chief’s Office along with a Fire Truck will be present during the drill to help simulate the experience of going through a real fire. We are urging members to please be present at church on this Sunday to make sure we are able to go conduct the drill in a manner that helps us assess congregational readiness and safety fire evacuation.
