The Pre-School have a pre- arranged excursion that will occur on this day. Course Counselling 8-11 Reynella East College offers a broad range of subjects that support students to develop the skills and knowledge required for their career pathwayS. This term we have had a SACE Information evening for students in years 10 and 11, and a Yr 12 Graduate Information session. These sessions are important in providing students and families with the latest information to support decision making about course selection. Wednesday 19 August is our Year 8-11 Course Counselling Expo where students find out more information about course offerings and make decisions about courses for 2016. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about career pathways. Middle School Review This year we have conducted a Middle School Review. The recommendations from the review include: Middle School to include students in years 6 to 9 A sub-school/ house structure 1:1 devices & digital learning Flexible and innovative learning spaces Transition days that are fun and engaging, based on relationships We are working to restructure the Middle School for 2016 based on evidence of effective Middle Schooling. Celebration Assemblies This term we have held celebration assemblies in the middle school and senior school to recognise excellence across the College. We have seen an increase this term in the number of students across the secondary school achieving Merits and Excellence Awards. Excellence in Sport and the Arts was also recognised. National Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with a Disability This year we have taken part in the National Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with a Disability. Under the Collection model the definition of disability is broad and includes learning difficulties, health conditions and mental health illnesses. The data will be used by our school to inform and improve practice for students with disability and by the Department for Education and Child Development to inform state-wide reform initiatives. The Australian Government Department of Education will use the information collected to inform national policy development. SEQTA update We have now enabled access to the SEQTA student portal. This provides students with access to their timetable, assignments, homework, school notices and other resources. We will be enabling parent access to the SEQTA parent portal in term 4.
