REBUILDING THE WALL

Nehemiah rebuilt the walls to the destroyed city of

Jerusalem.There are also some walls we

need to rebuild.

Nehemiah 1:2b-3

and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped, who had survived the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.

3 And they said to me, "The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire."

Nehemiah 2:17; 4:6

2:17 Then I said to them, "You see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach."

4:6 So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.

Some denominations are dying

Church Apostasy is a constant threat

We are one generation away from extinction

Restoration Movement did a lot to restore the NT church

There is still at lot of wall building left to be done

But – few read and obey what it teaches

We must rebuild:

Authority of the Bible

Personal Bible study

Not occasionally

Not just on Easter and Christmas

Remember the death of Jesus

As a memorial to Him

Till He comes again

Not infants

Reason – Why?

For forgiveness of their sins

Do you have a mind to work?

Nehemiah 4:6 So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.

There are still walls to be rebuilt.

Satan is still tearing them down.

We must be about building the walls again.
