Happy Spring!
It has been a rainy start to the spring but the hot, sticky
Nebraska weather is just right around the corner.
Thanks for all those who did the poker run! It was great
weather until the very end and then we got rained on.
Stacy and I rode the bike so we left a little early and
made it to a gas station just in time for the hail!!!
For those that could not make the last meeting, I will be
taking a small leave of absence from the club because of
my job. This will only be for about 5 months so Bob Mo-
bely will serve as your President while I’m gone.
I will be leaving for Nashville, TN on May 9th for three
weeks to help another crew. From there I will be in
Maryland just right outside of Washington DC for about 5
months to start a pilot program. I will fly home every six
weeks so I’m hoping to make it back for the car show.
I know the club is in very good hands. I have the best
board that a president could ask for. Thank you Bob,
Margret, Gary, Jana, Jim, and Craig.

Poker Run Winners and Not Winners
A good time was had by all. Though Mother Nature did
not love us the entire day, Rebels showed up and drove
the route to the end. Everyone enjoyed the small town
stops and had a few laughs about their poker hands.
Bill Masters held the top hand. Sheryl Wright was the
second place winner. Ken Bougger had the second worst
hand. Linda Masters had the worst of the worst hand.
Door prizes of cash were drawn with Don Shea winning
the big $20 bill.
Hope to do another Poker Run this fall. If you have a
route in mind get ‘er done and let me know. Thanks to
Doug Weber and Don Shea for putting this drive together.
It was a fun afternoon.
Proud to be a Rebel, Sandy Francisco

THIS MONTH WE HIGHLIGHT OUR REBELS MEMBERS
Bob and Kathy Andrews
by Jim Jensen
402-580-3763
I purchased this standard model 1940 Ford from Palmer
Meyer in December of 2012, when he was no longer able to
work on his cars. Palmer had two 1940 Fords sedans. He had
begun to update this one, modifying items such as the igni-
tion. The wiring and installation of gages had been
started. The interior had been renewed sometime in the
1970's. The black lacquer pain job is also from the 70's and
shines up nice. I finished the wiring, added side mirrors, in-
stalled an aluminum radiator and electric fan. I plan to finish
installing the air conditioning. It will probably be one of very
few Ford flat heads with air conditioning. It is a very fun car to
drive. I call it the "town car" because in 1940 there were not a
lot of paved roads and the gearing in the rear end is very deep
and highway speeds of today are a lot faster than this car was
made to go.
Note from Jim Jensen: I have known
Bob for over 60 years. He always
comes up with some fun toys to play
with.
