There is an action that survives the limits of meaning: this action is that of the imaginative sight. In “Le partì pres des choses” Francis Ponge warns us of the danger of a language of men made for men, and pro-poses, in contrast to the progressive exploitation of images, to produce poetry as if it were expression of objects themselves. The experimentation behind my work originates in the material condition of the elements that surround me. My research consists in a ceaseless listening of objects, of the medium they make poetry with. It is an inquiry on the emotional, sensitive and sometimes possessive fascina-tion on which relationships between individuals and inanimate objects arise and grow. In this sense, with my making, I try to interfere with this processes, or, when lacking, to create the condition of existence of same, valuing the expressive potential that is intrinsic in all forms and matters, as to build a base for affective relationships between the things of the world and men. My work also concerns the iconic and sonorous value of written and spoken language, as language can be considered a material object itself. I insist in the exercise of eliminating from my imagination the advertising and seductive component of images, so that the dimension lying beneath the iconic surface of things becomes accessible. I aim so to overcome the possessive bond between individuals and objects, which is finalistic and extinguishes through consumption. In years of research I ended up facing conceptual implications of these experiments, as well as ethical and political ones. The work itself does not directly lead its inter-locutor to question about a message that precedes it, neither about the contextual meaning of elements it is made out of: rather, it stands as an autonomous subject; a detail marking public and private spaces we daily cross; an ancient suggestion; an unstructured concept. It acts then as a tool to reactivate our sensitivity as creators of images, so to remind us the expressive possibility we have of doing what we see. In an apparently opposed direction to my sculptural and compo-sitional research, yet complementary to it, I find it important to develop a thought on methods, media and channels through which my work is conveyed and brought to the public. I am particularly interested in forms of meta-narration, that is, the display of ways in which, through fiction in its digital and analogical declinations, an image and/or a col-lective event can acquire mythopoetic features, charging so of an unex-pected value an ordinary experience. Finally, according to my view of the artistic profession, it is very important not to confine my practice in the production of objects or images. Since 2015, I organize festivals and artists-run, independent projects, that aim to defence artistic autonomy, to promote moments of experimentation and research outside the market sphere, to create a local artistic and interdisciplinary community, fostering mutualistic practices between artists, and promoting a dialogue between these latter and their territory.

Cuore (Heart), the first episode of Fireworks, a project that will develop throughout the whole 2019. It is, in fact, an exhibition that escapes from its typical closed temporality to assume, instead, the form of metanarrative, the epi-sodic structure of the epic poem. Marked by thematic repetitions, digressions, and a myth-ological-poetic intention, Fireworks aims to be a generational narrative of artists work and the romanticism of their useless gestures.
The first episode, Cuore, specially designed to fit into Toast, an artist-run space opened inside what used to be a porter’s lodge, finds its source in the fascination behind the image of its now absent inhabitant.
A projected light flashes from inside the small lodge, which windows have been covered by a plastic opaque foam. From a small window left slightly open, visitors can sight a bottom-less blue bucket, lying on the floor. Outside the space, three performers wander around as if they were visitors themselves, but carrying around with them all the time a sort of sonic scent, a trail coming out from their phones. Each track has been composed for the occasion by the music composer Andrea Di Curzio (Clas K.), who mixed together sound material giv-en by performers themselves, as to make three different sound past portrait of them.
About Cuore, as well as I will do with the others future Fireworks episodes, I realized a video clip inspired by wedding stories and events com-munication trends. It will mainly be spread out on social networks, with the objective, as in the case of musical video clips, to place the work within a narrative context that enhances its imaginative potential.
The project Cuore, in all its parts, works on the idea of Space on many levels, reading it as a content and a container at the same time.

The artwork, that hints at the world of writing, is nothing more than a call to reflect on ideas of bravery, resistance, beauty and art. As it has been realized during a rainy day, its outlines smudged by rain drops seem to be there as to reveal the vulnerability that stands with bravery behind every act of claiming. Visible only from a bird’s eye view, the writing looks like a mes-sage destined to something superhuman.

Gaston Bachelard wrote that a flame is a world for a lonely man.1 Two flames burn here simul-taneously, without ever colliding, nor finding a point of contact, but nevertheless extinguishing themselves in parallel, one next to the other, along their entire length.

The installation is a site specific work designed for the Rossmut gallery, in the occasion of the special project Coraggio. Gelatin film applica-tions, cut out of one same leaf-like module, repeated in multiples examples and juxtaposed in different ways under the gallery spotlights, transform the whole space into a woods, only through shades play. Continuing the research over the subject of light, started with the exhi-bition Substantial, in this operation light itself becomes a work of art: interacting with all oth-ers that inhabit the same space it relocates them at a precise moment of the day and in a place other than the one of the gallery.

Although the condition of distance is often thought and told as something abstract, the perception of when we are apart from some-thing or someone invests in the first place our body, and manifests itself as a physical sensa-tion, sometimes as pain. If reflecting on the idea of distance we face up to the gap between concept and experience. In an era in which new technologies eliminate every distance by pre-senting surrogate forms of closeness, the bodily perception of presence and absence is cata-logued as romantic, in a negative and nostalgic sense. Longe is a word that blends with things, transforming itself into their same matter, the matter of skin – a real, felt, carved skin. This performance takes the form of an anti-tattoo, destined to its disappearance in the course of a lifetime, little by little, each and every time the hand finds a contact.

Sometimes a thought manifest itself out of a friction: the first time light settled on a wand the clock was made. On the one hand, letters written down in plastic signs try here to give back to ideas and poetry their physical form; on the other hand, they challenge the concep-tual entity of the meaning which they refer to, Time; the latter, in turn, demolishes the very notion of matter of images.

Starting from Parabola, I have made a series of photographs, in collaboration with – Cosimo Filippini – entitled Space Stations and the video History of a parable: a subjective shot that shows in a single day, from dawn till dusk, the silent story of light variations and of the impercep-tible movements that happen around the uni-verse of the work.
A satellite dish was painted with dazzling car refinish paint, just as gold as the colour of the cityscape at dusk. By redirecting people’s gaze toward perspective, transmission/reception satellite dish take part in a communication process; these receivers can ignite our won-der, staging the show of a dialogue with light and with a satellite system that we know to be somewhere, but that we can not see. They are a point of interception in the midst of a symbolic panorama still to be deciphered, and as para-bles,1 they are a revelation.

When reading a written word, all we normally pay attention to is the referent they call up to our mind, which comes to us in the form of an image, where the imaginative process me-tabolizes previously lived experiences. What we are not used to pay attention to, however, are the lines tracing the letters of the word, yet they are images as well, and have a sign-logic at their origin. The research out of which these objects are produced aims to fill up the gap that separates the graphic symbol with the object it represents.

Couples of oppositely-gendered nouns, marker on paper (Series)70 × 40 cm 2013-2018
The attempt of this work is to experience a language that is very close to drawing, that needs to be written but which does not nec-essarily need to being readable; to experience the time when linguistic signs took their first form, in which linguistics arose from a logi-cal-poetic necessity. To face up to the risk of impoverishment which language is exposed to, each word has been approached here as if it was an individual, with his or her own subjectivity and physical features, capable of experiences and relationships. After having chosen pairs of oppositely-gendered and synonymous nouns, and with the involvement of a calligrapher, fonts and shapes of their graphic translation have been manipulated and worked on, aiming to highlight their different signic and semantic personalities.
In 2018 a series of An unheard-of language was dedicated to Italian politics vocabulary.

Variations in rhythm and intensity of a flame are the only score of this static camera video. However, an scenic expedient which recalls the simple game of throwing pieces of paper in the fireplace, accentuates some moments. Here then a rudimentary and artisanal technique opens the way to a vision with a strong lyrical, almost magical, character.

The photograph of a plum’s skin is mounted on a gilded brass plate and installed in the corner of a room. This way of depicting the object breaks all its connections with its coded iden-tity, whether linked to its name or appearance. All that it remains is a surface, now indefinable, inexpressible, that drives to the cosmos, the abyss, to chaos and chance.

This work is the result of the encounter of snow and sheets of tissue paper.Paper, left under the snow for a few minutes, collects snow, which gets attached to it trans-forming it into a permanent, freshly fallen snow paper.

Just as in the fifth novella, of the forth day, of Boccaccio’s Decameron, in which Lisabetta da Messina plants the head of her deceased belov-ed in a vase, waiting for him to bloom under her care, a basil plant has been planted in this clod of earth, where it is watered every day with rose water.
Seemingly, the artistic act is an act of love, sim-ply pursued through the care given to all things of the world.

Fea Lisboa & Studi FestivalArtistic practice does not end with producing objects. Studies Festival and FEA, Festival dos Espaços dos Artistas de Lisboa, are projects created, in cooperation with other artists, to defend artistic au-tonomy and promote a renewal of the art system, in a collaborative and mutualistic perspective.
In both initiatives, independent spaces, artist-run-spaces and artist’ studios of the urban areas involved opened their doors simultaneously, presenting exhibition projects, interventions and original performances, with the involvement of an extended network of artists.
These projects propose the rethinking of the artistic phenomenon, to be recognized in its complexity and variability by bringing out the most innovative and spontaneous forms of cultural offer. Both Studi Festival and FEA were born from the need to stimulate a new form of dialogue between artists and the city, aiming to establish a more direct and famil-iar contact of the potential public with contemporary art.
