Reasons Why It’s Good to Make Friends at Work

Many employers think that making friends in the office will reduce the work done by

the employees. But it’s totally wrong and in fact, it’s the opposite. Here’s a list of

reasons why everyone should make friends at work.

You spend most of your time at work.

You see and interact with your co-

workers more than your family and

friends. So if you are not close with

any of them, then working will

become hard and intolerable. Also,

time passes by more quickly if you

are in a happy environment.

You will enjoy work more.

Talking and bonding with friends at

work reduces your stress. You also

don’t have to wait for the weekend

just to hang out with your friends.

You can have dinner or watch a

movie after work.

You will become more productive.

You become more productive

because you are inspired and

motivated. Working does not

become hard especially knowing

that you have a support system.

You will improve your communication skills.

Talking to your supervisor is different

from talking with your officemates. It

helps you become more flexible and

sensitive towards others. Closeness

within the team makes employees

more cooperative, collaborative and

accountable.

You will care more about your work.

Now you are not just working for the

sake of work but for also for the people

you are working with. And because you

now work as a team, each of you has

the responsibility to get the job done

excellently so no one will suffer any

consequence. Your work has now

become your bonding moment, too.

Even if you work from home through a virtual office, it’s always good to keep in

touch with your coworkers. Your manager or team leader could always set up a

meeting where you can talk and bond with each other. Friends make work easier

and happier. Just try it and you will not regret it.

You will not feel alone.

Thank You!
