    2.3 SAP HANA Live Components

SAP Real Estate Cockpit is powered by SAP HANA and uses the following SAP HANA components:● SAP HANA

SAP HANA is an in-memory database platform that you can use to analyze large volumes of data in real-time.

    ● SAP HANA Extended Application Services (SAP HANA XS)

SAP HANA Extended Application Services (SAP HANA XS) is a lightweight application server in SAP HANA.

    ● Virtual Data Model (VDM)

A Virtual Data Model (VDM) is a data provider and a generic interface to the SAP HANA database. This

interface consists of query views that are used to analyse key performance indicators (KPIs). The VDM is a

structured representation of SAP HANA database views used in the SAP HANA analytics framework for SAP

Business Suite, and is deployed with SAP HANA Live for SAP Business Suite.

You can use the VDMs provided by SAP or use them as templates. You can use, for example, the VDMs forSAP for Flexible Real Estate Management or for SAP ERP. For more information, see help.sap.com/hba

     Application Help .

    2.4 Pre-Installation

    Certificates for Single Sign-On

For single sign-on (SSO) using logon tickets, you require an SSL server certificate for each of the components

between which you want to use SSO

    SAP HANA XS Engine

3.3 Download and Installation of Product Versions

We recommend using Maintenance Optimizer in SAP Solution Manager to install and update product versions.

SAP Solution Manager calculates the required software components that have to be deployed on each server.

This allows you to deploy several product versions at once.

Alternatively, you can download the required files directly from SAP Service Marketplace and deploy them

manually. This allows you to deploy only single product versions.

For more information about Maintenance Optimizer, see SAP Help Portal at help.sap.com/solutionmanager71  Application Help SAP Library SAP Solution Manager Maintenance Management

    Maintenance Optimizer .

Before you install SAP Real Estate Cockpit, you must install SAP Enterprise Dashboard first (software component

    Procedure

    1. Click Semantic.

    2. Click Add.

    3. Click Edit to configure the semantic: the Semantic Configuration menu is displayed.

    4. Click Apply, then Accept.

    Example

To get an overview of the room reservations for a range of buildings of your real estate portfolio, you can create a

    semantic with the following components:

    Key figures:Duration in hours

    ● Dimensions:

    Building name and room size

To get an overview of the gross rent and gross charges for a range of buildings of your real estate portfolio, you

can create a semantic with the following components:

    ● Key figures:

    Gross rent and gross charges

    ● Dimension:

Building nameIn addition, you can configure links to external systems for information purposes, for example, business

    applications.

    4.5 Configuring Filters

SAP Real Estate Cockpit components can be filtered on the dashboard in different ways. With filters, you can

influence the parameters, dimensions, and hierarchies of a semantic. Each filter is associated with a filter type

that allows you to filter components from different semantics on one dashboard at the same time.

The display of filter options on a dashboard is determined as follows:

    ● All dashboard components are retrieved

    ● All semantic components are retrieved

    ● All filterable parameters, filterable dimensions, and filterable hierarchies of the semantics are retrieved

    ● All possible values of the filterable parameters and filterable dimensions are retrieved

    ● All values by filter type are grouped and displayed as filters on the dashboard

    Filter Types

Filterable parameters, filterable dimensions, and filterable hierarchies are always associated with a filter type. For

each filter type, the following categories are available:

    Table 6

Filter Type Category Description Selectable for

Value Used for distinct values. Fordimensions, it is visualized through a

    multi-selection list (checkboxes), for

    parameters through a single-selection

    list (radio buttons).

    Parameters and dimensions

Range Used for (continuous) numerical values

    and visualized through a slider.

    Parameters and dimensions

Date Used for dates. SAP Real Estate Cockpit

    provides a time frame visualization.

    Parameters and dimensions

Hierarchy Used for hierarchies, visualized through

    a tree.

    Parameters and hierarchies

Unit Used for units and currencies,

visualization is currently identical to the

    one for values.

    Parameters and hierarchies

The main purpose of a filter type is to allow tiles from different semantics to be filtered by the same filter in SAP

Real Estate Cockpit. For example, both semantic A and semantic B might have a building, but specified in different

fields, BID and BuildingID, for example. Normally this would show up as two filters on the UI, but if they share

the same set of IDs, they can be combined by mapping them to the same filter type "Building". The user will only

see this filter type as a filter, but when he sets a value for the filter, in the background, both semantics receive the

value in their respective fields through the mapping between the field and the filter type.

    Filterable Parameters

For each parameter of a semantic, you can select whether it is filterable and you can associate it with a filter type.

For parameters, all filter types are available.

If no user-specific filters are set, the default values of the parameters are used to retrieve data from the SAP

HANA view or OData service of the semantic. For parameters that are not filterable or without user-specific filters,

    the default values are used.

    Filterable Dimensions

For each dimension of a semantic, you can select whether it is filterable and you can associate it with a filter type. For dimensions, all filter types except the hierarchy type are available.

If a user-specific filter is set, the retrieved data is filtered by the filter value or filter values, the selection returns

only data where the specified dimension has these filter values.

    Filterable Hierarchies

For each hierarchy of a semantic, you can select whether it is filterable and you can associate it with a filter type.

For hierarchies, only the hierarchy filter type is available.

If a user-specific filter is set, only the data items that are part of the selected part of the hierarchy are retrieved.

    4.6 Configuring Hierarchies

You can use hierarchies to display structured data.If the selected hierarchy element is not used as a parameter but the hierarchy has been defined in the semantic, a

SELECT statement is created. This statement is based on a join between the data view, for example, a VDM query

view, and the hierarchy view. From the hierarchy view the items below the selected element are retrieved,

including the selected one. The data view should return only the leafs, for example, buildings.

If the selected hierarchy element is used as a parameter and the hierarchy has been defined in the semantic, a

SELECT statement is created. This statement is based on a join between the data view and the hierarchy view.

From the hierarchy view, the items below the selected element are retrieved, including the selected one. The data

view should only return the leafs, for example, buildings.

If the selected hierarchy element is used as a parameter but no hierarchy has been defined in the semantic, a

SELECT statement is created. This statement selects the data from the data view. The data view may return data

on every level, including pre-aggregated values.

     Note

Please note that only geographical hierarchies are supported. In the SAP Real Estate Cockpit, the hierarchy

filter values are only displayed if the dashboard contains a component from a semantic for which the hierarchy

    has been defined.

    Procedure

    1. Select a semantic.2. Click Add to create a new hierarchy or select an existing one.

    3. Enter a description.

    4. Select a hierarchy view. Ensure that the hierarchy view is compatible with the SAP HANA view that you use

for the data set on which the semantic is based.

    5. Enter a key and a reference to map the hierarchy and the SAP HANA view. The key identifies the objects in

the hierarchy, whereas the reference is the field in the semantic.

    6. You can use readable texts to identify the elements of a hierarchy, as hierarchies use technical IDs.

    7. You can use hierarchies as filters on the SAP Real Estate Cockpit user interface. To enable this, set the Filter

option to Filterable. In addition, you must specify a filter type.

    4.7 Configuring Map Layers

Map layers are used on the geographical map on the SAP Real Estate Cockpit UI to filter the data displayed on the

map. You can use either marker layers or bubble layers.

    Prerequisites

    ● You have created an SAP HANA view with coordinates.

    by clicking them.

    8. Select the geo coordinates for the longitude and latitude.

    9. Specify what you want to measure and what to you want to have displayed on the map.

    10. You can use the default marker or bubble and define additional settings, such as fly-out properties, tooltips,

and links to external systems. Fly- out properties are displayed on the popup when you click the marker.

    11. Click Apply, then Accept.

    Example

Building capacity marker that displays the available workspace for each building on the map.
