The Play that Inspires Writing | Begins October 24, 2016Geared to inspire your students to write their own plays and participate in our 2017 Young Playwrights Festival. As a model, professional actors will perform at least two award-winning plays written by young playwrights. The show also teaches playwriting basics by using improvisation and participatory learning tools to inspire writing. Included with the show are up to eight in-class workshops to get your students writing their own plays.
The Winning Plays Written by Children | Begins May 1, 2017Wise, heartfelt, and often hilarious, this anthology of Award-winning short plays highlights the most creative and imaginative writing from Elementary school students. Performed by a cast of professional actors, the show will include a wide range of genres from comedies to dramas. These authentic stories from the minds of children, just like your students, contain lessons of life and purpose for us all.

The Play that Sets the Example | Begins September 29, 2016The timeless tale of a toy bunny who longs to become real comes to life for a whole new generation. In this show the audience’s imagination converts the actors and their simple props into a wise old rocking horse, an assortment of toys, a magical fairy. Based on the book by Margery Williams, the play is a joyous celebration of imagination, creativity, and the power of a child’s love.

“They taught me an easy way to remember all the parts to a play: characters, setting, problem, dialogue. We loved the actors coming to our classroom to teach us more about writing a play.” –Lexis, student at Tyndall Elementary School
“I have never seen our third-graders so excited and motivated as I did on Monday. The actors tapped into the student’s creativity and imagination, and our kids finally understood that they can use their imagination to create something from it. They are so excited to write these plays, because seeing their own ideas come to life... is what really motivates them. So, this is a wonderful experience for the students and the teachers, as well.” –Maria Dejoy, Fletcher Elementary School
