The index or Contents section includes the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, a Chart for the Government of the United States, agencies for the Legislative Branch, agencies for the Judicial Branch, and agencies for the Executive Branch. The manual provides factual information on agencies from all three branches of government (legislative, judicial, and executive) for the public. The United States Government Manual is an official handbook for the federal government. It provides factual information on federal agencies. It is a one-stop shop of general facts about federal agencies. For example, if someone wanted to know when Howard University was established by Congress, they would find the answer in the United States Government Manual.
