To create an appropriate reader profile for my own magazine, I need to do some initial research into existing reader profiles created by magazines that are already on the market. This way i can make sure my reader profile for my magazine is going to help me attract the right audience and create a

product that is suitable.

The billboard reader profile is simplistic in its design, this reflects the style of the magazine itself. There is long, specific paragraph about a singular person that sums up the billboard reader but there is various statistics about their readers, they will have carried out individual research to collect these statistics and as it says at the bottom the statistics where collected using billboards Harvey study carried out in June 2008. The silhouette of the business man represents the audience that they are mainly targeting to.

The mixmag reader profile is mainly images of what they expect the typical mixmag reader to be in to. It is bright and colourful but also simplistic and modern in its design which appeals to the target audience of mixmag. For the reader profile itself, they have some small paragraphs depicting information about their ideal reader for example how mixmag readers enjoy clubbing and spend little time watching the TV and how they have rarely read another music magazine other than mixmag.

The Q reader profile contains no statistics about their readers but does contain a in detail description about their ideal reader and their likes and dislikes. The profile is very simple and modern in design, with no images but this reflects the Q magazine style as a whole. There are no images which contradicts other reader profiles that I have analysed because usually they contain some images of their ideal readers or at least some images of the magazine itself. The Q profile shows how their readership is generally male and is typically aged in their late twenties, the simplistic design of the profile reflects to this audience.

The NME reader profile is a mixture of key statistics such as gender, age and profession and

then various other mixed headings about their readers such as the kind of mobiles that they use

and the kind of films that they watch. The design it kept simple and to the point, the red

and black colour scheme is one that is used in the magazine itself. The overall design is male

focussed as this is the gender that NME sells to the most. The profile also has various images linking to the type of products that the typical

NME reader likes and uses.
