Tips for Balancing Equations

• Balance in the order:

Metals, Non-metals, oxygen then hydrogen.

• Always leave the element on its own (not bonded) to last.

• Check all formulae are correct if a reaction won’t balance.

• You can ONLY balance by changing coefficients. (Big numbers in front.)
