    Re-signing and installing TestArchitect Agent

    on iOSTestArchitect Agent is an essential component in allowing TestArchitect to communicate with

    iOS devices during automated testing. TestArchitect Agent is installed onto an iOS device in a

    two-step process involving re-signing of the Agent, followed by its installation.Note: iOS automation is only available in TestArchitect obile !lus and "nterprise editions #see

    TestArchitect editionsfor details$.

    %mportant: iOS automation is only supported on &indows or OS ' hosts.

    "nsure that the basic re(uirements are met before installing TestArchitect Agent onto an iOSdevice #see !rere(uisites$.

    The following procedures for re-signing the TestArchitect Agent app can only be performed from

    an OS ' machine:

    ). Optional: %f the test machine does not yet have a development private *ey alreadyimported into the +eychain Access application, go ahead and import the private *ey file

    #.p)$ on your test machine:

    a. %f you need to eport the development private *ey from another test machine,select Applications / 0tilities / +eychain Access. %n the +eychain Access

    window, clic* login in the +eychains panel, then clic* +eys in the 1ategory

    panel. %n the Name panel, epand the imported private *ey node you want to use,right-clic* the certificate, select "port and save the *eychain file.

    b. %mport a development private *ey file #.p)$ into the test machine2s +eychainAccess by double-clic*ing the private *ey file. %f re(uested, enter the file2s

    password. The development private *ey is imported into +eychain Access on the

    test machine.

    . Obtain the full name of the private *ey from +eychain Access:

    a. Open +eychain Access from Applications / 0tilities / +eychain Access.

    b. %n the +eychain Access window, clic* login in the +eychains panel, and then

    clic* +eys in the 1ategory panel.

    c. %n the Name panel, epand the imported private *ey node you want to use, right-

    clic* the certificate, and select 3et %nfo on the contet menu.

    d. a*e note of the device2s provisional 1ommon Name.

    4. !lace the resign.sh script, the provisional profile file #.mobileprovision$, and theTestArchitectAgent.ipa file into a folder with full read and write permissions.

    Note: The resign.sh script and the TestArchitectAgent.ipa application file can be found at

    the following location once TestArchitect is installed:Applications5TestArchitect5device5iOS5resource.

    6. Start the command line terminal and navigate to the directory to which you copied the

    files in the preceding step.

    7. a*e the resign.sh script eecutable by entering the following command to the terminal,then press Enter.

    chmod +x resign.sh

    8. "ecute the resign.sh script with the name of the private *ey obtained in the previous step

    as the first parameter, the name of the provisional profile file as the second parameter,

    and the name of the application file to re-sign as the third parameter.

    Synta: resign.sh 91ommon Name of private *ey in +eychain Access/ 9file name of the

    provisional profile/ 9file name #without the .ipa suffi$ of the application file to re-sign/

    The resign.sh script terminates with the message repl*cing existing

    sign*tre, to indicate that re-signing was successful.

    . 1onnect the iOS device to the test machine using a 0S; cable, and install a re-signed

    TestArchitect Agent onto the device with iTunes.

    a. may be performed on either an OS ' or &indows machine.

    ?. @ou must synchroni=e essential TestArchitect Agent development libraries with the iOS

    device before TestArchitect Agent can be launched on the device.

    a. %f you haven2t done so already, connect the iOS device to the test machine using a0S; cable.

    b. Start 'code on the test machine and wait at least ten seconds before disconnectingthe iOS device or closing 'code.

    Note: %f the device is not a development device,enable development modeon it.

    . %mportant: TestArchitect Agent libraries are purged each time the iOS device restarts or

    reboots. Therefore, in order to run the Agent on a rebooted iOS device, you must

    resynchroni=e the TestArchitect Agent development libraries with the device by repeatingstep >?.

    After installing a re-signed TestArchitect Agent onto an iOS device, the TestArchitect Agent icon

    is visible on the device2s des*top.
