What is in a Buddhist shrine?
A statue of The Buddha (The Buddha rupa). This will sometimes be on a small platform above everything else to show how important this is. Buddhists might have more that one statue on their shrine.
The statue helps Buddhists to remember the Buddha’s teachings.
Flowers - To show that even beautiful things die.
Candles – these represent the light of the Buddha’s teachings.
