Message from our Sponsor

Nedbank CIB Property Finance is the leading provider of innovative financing solutions to the important South African economic sector of commercial, industrial, retail and residential property development, offering loan funding to developers, owners, occupiers and investors.

In keeping with its own philosophy, Nedbank CIB believes that cutting-edge shopping centre design and economic success are deserving of recognition, and is therefore particularly proud to sponsor the Retail Design and Development Awards.

Our commitment to the investment in the RDDA awards concept and process extends to the inclusion of Ken Reynolds, a NCIB Property Finance Divisional Exco member, on the panel of judges.

We are particularly proud of the fact that many of our clients and the retail developments that we funded over the years, have been RDDA winners.

Over the last two years we have committed over R16 billion towards building the economy including:• 9 corporate office blocks• 9 shopping malls• 18 000 affordable housing units

The NCIB Property Finance teams attribute success primarily to their sustainability-driven, relationship-based business approach, demonstrated through a client-centric business model. This partnership philosophy underpins the approach of the business – and that of Nedbank CIB as a whole – to embracing and capitalising on the ever-changing and inevitable disruption of global financial services as a long-term strategy for success.

STEP 1

Judges review eligible submissions and score them confidentially. Judges will not review entries from their own companies or any entry that might constitute a conflict of interest. In the 1st round judges are required to score yes/no if they feel the entry meets the above requirements and should be short-listed to 2nd round judging. All entries receiving more than 50% vote by the first round will go through to 2nd round judging.

STEP 2The 2nd round judging then includes all entries where “YES” was scored by 50% of the judges. Site visits are then conducted by judges and judges give a score out of 100%.

STEP 3Judging takes place in person, judges discuss entries based on the scores received and winners are decided.
