PARKING: Recreational, utility or flat deck

trailers cannot be parked on the street unless attached to the towing vehicle. Heavy Vehicles

in excess of 5500 kg are not permitted to be parked

in the residential area. Fines of up to $500.

Don’t get caught with a penalty

on your utility bill!

Utility bills paid at most Financial Institutions need 2 to 3 business days to reach the village office. To avoid penalties, ensure your payment is made a few business days in advance of the due date so that there is sufficient time for the payment to reach our office. If you notice a penalty on your bill the payment has not reached us by the due date and you may have to adjust the day you make your payment.

Village of Marwayne’s Water Conservation,

Efficiency & Productivity (CEP) Measures

2013 Review – How are we doing?

The Village is striving to live within the capacity of

our watershed and has tried to remain realistic with

what can be achieved with our limited capacity yet

taking our future growth into account.

Year end statistics were presented to Council in

March. The bottom line is we are continuing to

have undetected water leaks. They are hard to

detect in our sandy soil, therefore, we need your

help – please phone the Village Office if you have

noisy pipes (the pipes sometimes amplify the water

rushing out of the leaky pipe) or you have reduced

water pressure. Public

Works will come to your

house & assess the situation.

Canadian Leak Detection

were ”listening” to our main

pipes on March 19 & 20.

They were able to identify two areas that the water

mains are leaking: the intersection of South 2nd

Avenue & South 2nd

Street, and top of the hill on

North 6th

Street. Public Works is working to isolate

and organize contractors for the required repairs.

The good news is, the Canadian residential average

use is 510 liters/person/day.

In Alberta the residential average is 209 l/c/d.

In Marwayne, our residential average in 2013 was

148 liters/capita/day.

Way to go!

The CEP Plan is available on our website.
