Multi parts assembling and mechanical coupling systems

Challenge: To replace the welding connections by others with the

same mechanical characteristics

Conventional approach Conventional welding

MCG Approach: Replacing conventional welding by mechanical connection

based on tube forming operations

Challenge: Optimize thermal, acoustic and damping characteristics

on structural metal components

Conventional approach Use of insulators and damping materials applied after

assembling operations

MCG Approach: Optimize a composite cork base polymer for conventional

stamping process, taking advantage of three characteristics associated with cork:

Low weight High acoustic and damping performance High thermal performance

Customer Benefits: Reduction of vibrations Weight reduction Increased thermal insulation No additional operations for insulation application

SINGLE POINT INCREMENTAL FORMING Small batch production, prototypes and more diversity of products Part production directly from the CAD design using CNC CNC machine with no need for stamping tools.

Challenge: Produce functional prototypes without tooling

investment.

Conventional approach Production of conventional tools for prototypes

production.

MCG Approach: Depending on part geometry we have the two options:

SPIF and laser-cut SPIF, laser cutting and conventional stamping tools.

Development of a high performance CPC solar collector for Prototype 2 - ReelCoop R&D Project

Prototype 2 is a hybrid solar/biomass micro-cogeneration ORC system (6 kW el. out.); it will be tested in Morocco in 2015 Product Development : Medium temperature process heat (<220 ºC) Lowest cost €/kWh Best-in-class performance Whole system design, starting from a blank slate Objectives: Direct competition with fossil fuels Ease of transport and installation Modular construction

ABOUT REELCOOP

‘REELCOOP’ (REnewable ELectricity COOPeration) is a EU/FP7 funded project aiming to develop renewable electricity generation technologies and promoting cooperation between EU Partner Countries and Mediterranean Partner Countries, which started in 1 September 2013, with a duration of 4 years. http://www.reelcoop.com
