RCTC’s Welding Technology program is one semester long and available in both a fall and spring start.This program will provide instruction in four types of welding as well as blue print reading and safety. In addition, students will be prepared to apply technical knowledge and skills to cut and join metal surfaces.

Job titles in the welding field include: Braze Operator, Fitter-Welder, Machine Operator, MIG Welder, Spot Welder, Technical Associate (TA), Fabricator, Finishing Technician, and Welder.

The employment outlook for this field is anticipated to grow 18% through 2020. The median wage in the Rochester metropolitan area has grown 10% during recent years with an average annual salary of $38,720.

The Women’s Economic Security Act (WESA) Grant is available for a limited time to qualifying women interested in pursuing careers in welding, precision manufacturing technology (PMT), computer aided drafting (CAD), and other qualifying fields.
