I WAS meditating recently to find out from God what will be our theme for 2013. There were certain challenges I saw in 2012 that I was asking God to completely eradicate in the next. God answered and said, "All covenanted ministries (whether individual or church) will hit major storm in their 3rd year. If the ministry escapes that by grace, a greater storm will come against it in its 6th year. If the ministry equally escapes the double storm, it will then qualify for the blessings of the 7th year”. For us in Everlasting Father's Assembly, there were storms that we went through at three years. To the glory of God, we escape them all. Also at six years, thank God for all the astounding accomplishments that we have enjoyed, we also escaped double storms. Glory be to God! So I asked God, since we have escaped the sixth year, what is the blessing of the seventh year? He took me back to the creation of the world. He said, ‘What did the bible says I did on the seventh day’? And I said that You rested from Your labours. So, God said "2013 is your year of My rest". Note that it is the God's rest, not our kind of rest. The bible says that God does not sleep nor slumber (Ps. 121:4). So it's not a rest of sleep. Neither is it of folding of hands. It is a rest from excessive labours and entering into excessive favours. The seventh day was a time when God stopped creating on this earth, but switched to watching over what He has created. In 2013, God will help us to look after what He has created for us and through us. We will supervise and oversee machinery that will run itself. Every system that God has helped us to create will begin to work for us. Grace will supersede haste. There was a time when the Israelites were fighting Canaan, the Israelites were outnumbered. So God began to use constellations to fight for them (Judges 5:20). God will assign hosts of heaven to work for us in 2013 . By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye FOR INDIVIDUALS FOR NIGERIA: INTERNATIONAL: : 1. The Lord says prominent world leaders need a lot prayers so as not to die in office. 2. Prominent Church leaders need prayers against planned scandals. 3. Weather conditions may get worse, much worst, unless prayers are intensified. 4. We should expect a major breakthrough in medicine this year. 5. To remove impurities, dirt, filth; to remove guilt; to purge; etc. when this cleansing is an act of God or done to please God, it would then be Divine cleansing. God is always looking for a cleansed vessel to anoint, empower and use for His own glory. Also, for someone to be able to experience and perform miracles, purity of heart and flesh are prerequisite. As the children of Israel were looking forward in anticipation to witness the miracle of the parting of the Jordan River in order to enter into their Promised Land, the call to sanctify or cleanse themselves was proclaimed throughout their camp to witness and partake in such an astounding occurrence (Joshua 3:5). As soon as that was achieved, the priests of God bore the Ark of the Covenant ahead and stepped into the River Jordan. Alas, the miraculous happened! The water was divided and the Israelites walked on dry ground! In this month of February, we are to sanctify and consecrate ourselves more for a greater anointing, empowerment and use by the Most High. We are to rid ourselves of any impurity and guilt. God will also purge our Assembly so that miracles, signs and wonders will be a constant experience among us in Jesus name . . By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye W E all pray for wonders to happen in our lives. One thing one needs to understand is that wonder is different from magic. Magic can happen to anyone, but wonders are for God's children. The Serophenician woman is a good example. As a matter of fact, wonder is a prefix of one of the names of Jesus - Wonderful. So, one would need to identify with Jesus to experience wonders. May your life be full of wonders in Jesus name. It is the freedom of adulteration or contamination resulting from sin or guilt e.g. diesel and petrol mixed together. The car will not perform properly. The children of Israel had spent over 400 years in Egypt, part of those years were spent as slaves. They had been contaminated by the culture of their captors. They too began to worship and serve the gods of the Egyptians. For them to be able to experience the wonders of God therefore, they first had to be free from the contamination they had been through. God made this possible by asking them to shed the blood of an animal for the atonement of their sins (Ex. 12:3-14). Then their wonder of freedom from slavery immediately followed. Do you want freedom from any oppression of the enemy? Do you require certain wonders from God? God told the children of Israel that He was about to bring them into the Land which He promised to their fathers. He commanded Joshua to be strong and of a good courage as they face one of their final obstacles - River Jordan. As the time draw near for them to enter, Joshua instructed the people to purify themselves so that they could experience the wonder promised by God (Jos. 3:5). It is said that the point at Gilgal where the Israelites crossed is only 100 feet wide in dry season, but it is usually over a mile wide in flood. For it to be a wonder therefore, God made sure that their crossing was done in flood season. Jos. 3: 15 And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,) Regardless of how challenging or tough this season might be for you, your wonder will come through. Every flood that is trying to overwhelm your life will dry up in Jesus name. When Jesus became of age, though the Son of God, but because He came in flesh, He had to sanctify Himself through fasting and prayers for forty days and nights. He overcame temptations and then received the power to do wonders. Lk. 4:1-14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. Do you desire to be famous in life? In this 28 days of fasting and prayers, make purity your priority. He was just known as Jesus of Nazareth, after the power came upon Him, He was then known as Christ (Acts 10:38). May you receive the power to heal all manners of sickness and diseases in Jesus name. May the power to do good come upon you in Jesus name. Consecrate your life unto God (Ps. 4:3). Control your tongue (Titus 2:7-8; James 1:26). Always do the right thing, don't follow what others are doing (John 3:20-21). Assist the fatherless and widows (James 1:27) God promised wonders will start happening (Ex. 19:10-11) Aids an intimate relationship with God (Gen. 5:21-24) Gives power to withstand and overthrow the enemies (Jos. 7:13) A Pastor learnt the biggest lessons of his life regarding cleansing/purity when he tried to become a livestock farmer. He went to buy sheep from a farmer, and the farmer added few free goats as a kind gesture. The fence of garden where he kept the animals was repeatedly broken down at night by the animals, until he got fed up and left the fence out. That same night foxes killed all the sheep and the goats. He leant that fence did only keep the animals from going out but also the foxes from coming in. Purity does not only attract God's blessing to us, it also keep the devil away. Supposed he had separated the goats from the sheep. He would have protected his priced animals. Psalm 1:1-3 highlights certain purifications that can generate wonders. Father, help me not to walk in the counsel of the ungodly. Father, help me not to stand in the way of sinners. Father, help me not to seat with the scornful – disdainful. Father, help me to delight myself in Your word and to meditate in it day and night. Father, let me be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, let me bring up fruit in my due season, let not my leaves wither and let whatsoever I do to prosper. Be Re-assured: It makes sense to follow Jesus
I thank God for the opportunity to share with you these words, mere reminders of the scriptural precepts you are already familiar with.
We live in a fast paced society with values and practices that constantly oppose the established traditions of our faith. These ever shifting values, arising from human wisdom have been used to heavily secularise and materialise our world. These secular fundamentals and values are frequently in direct conflict with the bidding of our ever stable, unchanging and eternal God.
The resulting conflicts are inevitable and may sometimes not be so obvious to discern. They creep upon the foundations of Christian faith insidiously, and sometimes in stark belligerence. Never before has it been as important for Christians to keep our goal in sight.
With the knowledge that Jesus Christ our Hope of Glory is our ever present help, it is the perfect time to avoid getting encumbered with consuming arguments, and the distractions of this age. Prevailing social issues, governance concerns, treacherous dynamics of politics, rumours of war, bad news from mass and electronic media, and even the cunning guises of religion will fight for our attention. We must instead focus our attention on Jesus Christ and our constant communion with Him, following Him daily to focus on glory.
For simplification let us examine three important aspects: ‘The things that do not make sense to the world’, ‘Our conflict with the traditions of the world’, and ‘Why those things that make no sense to the world actually make sense to Christians’
1)Faith, the very element at the core of our spiritual existence, and fabric of our creed’s substance is a nonsensical myth and fallacy to the world. Thank God that He actually hears us when we talk to Him, and responds in various ways. Without being in a delusion or experiencing hallucinations, we actually experience being in a relationship with our Creator, through the help of the person of the Holy Spirit. Sadly, this is not common to all and the world thinks it impossible at worst, and at least ‘makes no sense’! We are looked upon as people who need serious help, to subscribe to the accepted secular explanations of phenomena, science as manipulated by secular establishments and society as secularly engineered. The whole faith and ‘Jesus thing’ just does not make sense to the world!
2) Living, experiencing, and benefiting daily from the spiritual inner life that the world is blind to however, we are at odds with the philosophy and normalcy of this world. (John 8.23, John 18.36 Ephesians 6.12 1Cor.1.20) Just like Jesus our predecessor and High Priest we are in constant battle spiritually; cannot conform to the ways of this world, and our standards are entirely separate. In fact we could comfortably qualify as alien, as we live in the world but are not or the world, neither are we changed by it.
3) We are privileged to understand (and by God’s grace thrive triumphantly in living out) what even the wisest and most reviled sages of the secular world currently lack the capacity to grasp, discern or understand. We recognise how God wilfully suffered humiliating relegation, and endured the harshest forms of physical agony (verse 9,10). We understand that he has more than the necessary wisdom and power to demonstrate His love for us, and gain the utmost of our confidence (verse 14). He is not only far beyond overqualified to look after us, His brethren; but He has personally experienced the hardships we might face, and understands intimately exactly how we feel (verse 17,18). He loves us beyond words can explain and is determined to keep us till the end.
Finally brethren in exhorting us about these we should keep within our consciousness the fact that Jesus understands us most intimately (Psalm 103.11-14) and has vowed about how special we are to Himself (1 Peter 2.9).
