The Universidad de Sta. Isabel Debate Society is delighted and privileged to invite all of you to

the 8TH RAUL ROCO CUP: THE BICOL DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP on August 21 – 25, 2014. Being the 8th

installment of this regional British Parliamentary debate tournament, this year’s Roco Cup

promises to open doors to infinite tournament experiences while engaging the wit and critical

thinking skills of Bicol debaters.

The Roco Cup is the biggest and most prestigious debate tournament in Bicol, gathering more than

200 participants annually to clash ideas with fellow debaters in the region. The organizers of the

8th Raul Roco Cup seek to offer a memorable experience to its participants by catering a milieu of

excitement and fun alongside the grueling debate rounds.

We are pleased to announce that the registration for this tournament is now open to all

debating institutions in Bicol. The 8th Raul Roco Cup will be following the British Parliamentary

Format with a tournament cap of 100 teams, with an institution cap of 12 teams, and a break cap

of 4 teams per institution. The N-rule adjudication policy will be followed for the College Division.

And as part of this year’s infinite possibilities, anyone previously/currently enrolled or

alumnus/alumna of any institution in the Philippines is now eligible to compete as an Adjudicator.

Hybrid teams will also be allowed to compete and special competitions are added; the Robredo

Cup and the An Maogmang Lugar Cup.
