Pay: £28,000 pro rata Hours: Part time (three days a week) Reports to: Director Royal Society of Sculptors The Royal Society of Sculptors has over 650 national and international professional sculptor members. Our mission is to raise the profile of sculpture in all its forms. We advocate for sculpture and the artists who create it, supporting them at all stages of their career. We host awards, exhibitions and associated talks, lectures and events and organise an active programme in partnership with others. You will be joining at an exciting time. We have recently launched a new name and brand identity, but these changes are only part of the story. Our ambition is to be a leading centre for sculpture and 3D art from our base, Dora House, in South Kensington. We will soon be beginning a fundraising campaign to transform Dora House. The main duties are: To deliver the exhibitions programme both on and off site, including the

sculpture terrace, across all stages of the process from research to administration and installation

To set and monitor project budgets To contract and manage relationships with – for example – artists, lenders,

curators, designers, architects To organize selection meetings for exhibitions where relevant – such as the

annual summer show To manage and attend private views To manage and oversee the maintenance of the gallery spaces To source and secure funds for the exhibition programme where

appropriate To provide reports on the programme where necessary

To liaise with the communications and events manager in order to promote the exhibitions programme

To cover the first point of contact for Society Members and the public by telephone and email

To attend relevant training opportunities and participate in appropriate networks

To develop opportunities which raise the profile of the Society according to the strategic plan

To work occasional evenings and weekends To carry out any other duties that may be reasonable required

Knowledge, skills and experience: Robust experience of organising exhibitions Knowledge of contemporary art and an interest in sculpture Experience of supervising/managing people in the workplace Ability to work closely and effectively with a small team Ability to work comfortably and communicate with a wide range of people

(artists, curators, members, funding bodies, Board members, volunteers the public etc.)

Ability to devise and manage budgets for individual projects

Knowledge of and commitment to providing equal access for all

Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize a varied work load effectively

A flexible approach Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to

detail IT literate with knowledge of MS Office software packages (e.g. Word,

Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.) and design packages (e.g. Photoshop, Publisher & Dreamweaver etc.)
