    Welcome......

It is a year of change for the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. All you need to do is ride around the Sea

Pines Resort and you can see evidence that things are changing. After this years tournament, the Har-

bour Town Clubhouse will be torn down, but you can see work is already being done on the tennis courts

and the parking lot. The Plantation Golf Club is almost complete and work continues at the Beach Club.

When all of these projects are complete, they will greatly enhance the RBC Heritage. Until then, we have

to manage. Our media are going to face many of the changes this year, but we plan to make the transi-

tions seamless and we hope that you will work with us.

All media will be parking in Lot #10 this year. Lot #10 is located in the field next to the Fire Station on Light-

house Road. Shuttles will be picking you up and dropping you off at the Arnie Burdick Media Center. We

are also moving the satellite and live trucks away from the 18th green. They will now be located in the

Harbour Town Golf Links parking lot. The last change is the best one, the Arnie Burdick Media Center is

expanding. We will have more room for writers, photographers and radio stations. We will also have a

few surprises planned that should make your taste buds happy.

Please dont hesitate to reach out and call or email me if you have questions or concerns. We dont wantany of these changes to negatively affect any of the media. The staff is committed to putting on the best

    tournament possible.

Thank you so much for your time, and we will see you April 14-20, 2014.

    As Arnie used to say...

    With every good wish,

    Angela McSwain

    Marketing and Communications Director

    AN UNWAVERING TRADITION

heritage n.: Something that is passed down from preceding generations; a tradition.

This year, the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing has a new rally cry. Plaid Nation is the spirit that

makes the RBC Heritage a unique stop on the PGA TOUR. Its families and friends coming together year

after year to be a part of something big, memorable and fun. Its a heritage of southern hospitality andthe truest example of that warm, welcoming Lowcountry lifestyle. Its a spirit that unites people who be-

lieve that giving back and paying forward are an honor, not an obligation.

The economic impact of the RBC Heritage on the Lowcountry is unsurpassed. The RBC Heritage generates

more than $80 million in annual economic impact for the state. Each year, the Heritage Classic Founda-

tion distributes the money raised from the tournament. Its goal is to improve lives one tournament at a

time, and it has helped thousands of people through its charitable giving programs. Since the Heritage

Classic Foundations inception, more than $26 million has been donated to those in need throughout the

    state of South Carolina.

The RBC Heritage has an incredible support network of many local, county and state governments, aswell as support and involvement from corporations large and small within the region. From Lowcountry

residents and 1,200 volunteers who work the tournament to the fans who purchase tickets, the com-

munity heeds the call to Get Your Plaid On! Further proving that while plaid may be just a pattern on

fabricit is very much the fabric of this community.

    Heritage Classic FoundationTournament General Sponsor

When you support the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, you are helping support hundreds of non-

profit organizations in South Carolina. The Heritage Classic Foundation directs and guides the tourna-

ment, and since 1987 it has distributed more than $26 million to a wide variety of charitable organizations.

    HERITAGE CHAMPIONS FORE CHARITY

The goal of this exclusive program is to increase the charitable dollars generated by the RBC Heritage

Presented by Boeing. It is an effort to provide year- round support to the nonprofit organizations in our

communities. All donations must be at least $1,000 and each receives a 20% match from the Heritage Clas-

    sic Foundation.

    CHIP IN FOR YOUR CHARITY

Birdies for Charity is a fun way to contribute to your favorite charity while following the PGA TOUR pros

as they play in the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. Each participating charity will receive every penny

of the donations from this program, plus the Heritage Classic Foundation will contribute an additional 20%for every dollar raised.

    DRIVE UP CHARITY DOLLARS

Help the Heritage Classic Foundation Drive up charity dollars by purchasing a license plate. The plate

gives South Carolina residents a way to show their support of the Foundation. The majority of the pro-

ceeds are donated back to the Foundation.

Scholar Program Is Restructured in 2014

In August 2013, the Heritage Classic Foundation Scholar Committee evaluated the Scholar Program and

decided to revamp it for the 2014 school year. The traditional four-year Scholar Awards will be reduced

from 15 to 7. Five will be worth $18,000 and two will be worth $22,000 divided over four college years.

As in the past, scholars from the graduating classes at Beaufort County high schools will be honored, and

scholarships will be presented to deserving students who demonstrate scholastic and leadership achieve-

ment as well as financial need. The grants cover four college years.

The committee also decided to award four annual scholarships to University of South Carolina - Beaufort

students and two annual scholarships to students at the Technical College of the Lowcountry. The USC-

B awards totaling $10,000 will be named to honor John Curry in Hospitality, Deke DeLoach in Security, JoeFraser in Business and Ward Kirby in Management. The TCL scholarships totaling $3,000 will be named

for Norman Harberger in Management and Angus Cotton in Hospitality. Each gentleman honored is a for-

mer or current Heritage Classic Foundation Trustee.

The program was created in 1993 when seven Scholars were named, now 60 students are receiving Foun-

dation grants. To date, a grand total of $3,279,600 has been awarded. Since 1993, 252 students have been

named Heritage Classic Foundation Scholars. Trustee Ward Kirby serves as committee chairman.

    The Players Amateur

The Players Amateur is proud to be celebrating its 15th anniversary July 7-13, 2014. This one-of-a-kind

amateur golf tournament was created by players for the players. Former Walker Cup Team members

Duke Delcher and Tom McKnight wanted the event to be 100% dedicated to the golfers.

There has never been an entry fee to compete, all players have enjoyed being guests in club members

homes and have been enjoyed the golf amentities at Belfair Golf Club and since 2012 at the Berkeley Hall

Club in Bluffton, South Carolina. This top-notch golf experience is made possible by generous contribu-

tions and donations from sponsors, volunteers and the host club.

The Players Amateur quickly formed a partnership with the RBC Heritage and was one of the first major

amateur event to offer its champion an exemption into a PGA TOUR event. The Players Amateur is con-

ducted by the Heritage Classic Foundation, with Steve Wilmot serving as Tournament Director.

Players Amateur alumni are making a name for themselves in the world of professional golf. Here is a list
