EPDM Roofing System

EPDM has established over 50 years of usage

and still popular today. Its reputation of low

maintenance and top-notch weathering

characteristics makes it the idea roofing op-

northern climates especially, the original

black color of the membrane attracts the

suns solar energy, leading to significant re-

ductions in heating costs during the winter

months before and after snow fall.

TPO Roofing Thermoplastic polyolefin, or TPO, is the fast-

est growing segment of the commercial

roofing industry. Rayco is the leading sup-

plier of this type of roofing. Fueling this

growth is the increased use of TPO in south-

ern climates where cooling costs significantly

outweigh heating costs. Rayco uses TPO

membranes are Energy Star qualified and

CRRC certified and have been directly attrib-

uted to a reduction in a building’s energy

consumption by greatly diminishing the cost

of air conditioning.

Rayco uses the next generation performance

against heat aging and UV degradation that

exceeds all key ASTM standards for TPO

membranes. Standard TPO roofing sold to-

day simply cannot match the performances

of TPO used by Rayco. The proprietary for-

mulation of stabilizers and UV absorbers to

achieve performance levels far beyond cur-

rent roofing standards.

In addition to the TPO, Rayco’s welding sys-

tem is the industry’s most reflective single-

ply membrane designed for the installation

in conjunction with PV applications. Any

project that benefits from long term reduc-

tions in cooling costs. Rayco’s industry lead-

ing reflectivity and extremely smooth top

surface enables the membrane to provide a

whiter, more reflective appearance for years

to come.

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is a trusted mem-

brane that has been performing admirably

for decades in the North American market.

Another option for reflective roofing,

Rayco’s PVC membranes are Energy Star and

CRRC certified and offer building owners the

potential for decreased cooling costs. PVC

offers excellent resistance to rooftop chemi-

cal attacks including acids, oils, and greases.

All BUR Systems are “built up” using

hot asphalt. They are still the most popular

roofing systems, and the most cost-

effective. With the introduction of Title 24,

some of the BUR systems are approaching

the cost of Single Ply Systems. The biggest

drawback to BUR systems is the smell of

hot asphalt and the noise of the kettle.
