PA66 raw material limitation
Dear Customer,
As the plastics industry finds itself in a serious PA66 capacity shortage, consequently Aptiv will be affected as well out of this general market situation for products using PA66. Based on our actual forecast for products using this material it is foreseeable, that for 2019 customer demands we are seeing a gap versus the commitments of our raw material suppliers. Aptiv is in a close and regular contact with our suppliers in order to further improve the situation. In parallel, we are working on a risk mitigation plan which considers to qualify alternative materials. We will come back to you soon in order to share further details and fully trust in your support in the validation process of the selected products allowing us to manage this situation. Next to that starting from now on and until further notice, APTIV will be not in a position to support any demand increases on products using PA66. We are well aware of the issues this may create on your side. Please be assured of our commitment to take all necessary actions to overcome this difficult situation. In the meantime, we thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Best regards,
Aptiv Services Deutschland GmbH
