Managed by a group of highschool students selected and trained, YB teaches students to create, promote and transparently administrate a fund for projects implemented by highschool students. It is a mechanism by which behaviors related to philanthropy, civic initiative and responsibility are encouraged. In Sibiu, the program is implemented by the Sibiu Community Foundation. For the group of highschool students as a group of initiative directly involved in projects, YouthBank means knowledge, experience and opportunities. It is an excellent school for personal development and a successful model of active involvement to produce the change we all want in our communities. By investing in these young people, we actually invest in a new generation of leaders, with a responsible attitude that encourage philanthropy and civic initiative.” Diana Tatu, Manager at ProLanguage, main supporter of YouthBank at the 2013 Sibiu HalfMarathon and founder at SCF What did this HalfMarathon mean to me? Obscurity, numbness, tremors, fear, cold, pain, distress, support, fall, power, strength, senses ... emotions, emotions that kept coming back - this would be a short summary of what was in my heart when I placed myself at the starting line and I became aware that I represented YouthBank Sibiu’s team. The team relied on me!” Raluca Rotariu, Member of the Youth- Bank Sibiu Team 2012-2013, and runner at the 2013 Sibiu HalfMarathon for the YouthBank Program in Sibiu “This project was an unique experience for all the team members, because none of us has been the main organizer of an event before. The most important thing we've learned is that even the greatest idea can become reality if there is desire for involvement, passion, labor and support. Furthermore, this project has taught us to work together, to use our time in an effective way, to discover our strengths and to use them for a good collabora- tion. Even the difficult moments actually had a positive impact on us. They put our skills to the test and strengthened the bonds between us.” Corina Doican, Leader of 5 for the Film Team, YouthBank Sibiu 2013 grantee For more information please visit: http://www.sibiu.youthbankromania.ro/ https://www.facebook.com/YouthBank.Sibiu Financed by: An initiative of: Supported by: Sponsored by:
