I liked this art-shop because it was fun and it was a great experience Rangoli Art.

I liked Ila‟s work because it was colorful and big.

(Armahu Bryan)

I liked messing with sand I suppose.

It was difficult to clean it up but it ended alright I guess.

I liked Sommer‟s artwork because of squiggly signs.

(Anthony Morales)

Kolam

This was awesome. So much fun. Me and my group created a Kolam.

I am greatly inspired. We really liked the flower surrounded

by beans of different colors by Jose Contreros.

(Sommers Hardy)

Tear Drop

Today we used sand to create designs with rangoli art.

At my table we used many bright colors.

I liked this because if you mess up, you can just wipe it away.

Also there were endless possibilites on making art.

I liked Sommers‟s art because it looked like real Indian artwork.

(Morgan Chrystie)

The Sun

Even though my mind was blank towards what I was going to create,

once I started drawing random lines of sand, it was easy to form them

into a shape tat made sense.

It was easier than I thought.

Morgan‟s work was very colorful and detailed.

(Zoe Kolischale)

Flowing Wind

I love the Indian style, all the designs and how it is different from other arts.

How free flowing but symmetrical it is.

I liked David‟s „Elephant‟. It was half yellow and red.

It was very different.

(Rachel Tuttle)

The Spring Flower

I liked everything about this artwork.

I want to have an art project with this type of art.

I liked Rachel‟s work because it stood out.

It was very colorful and unique.

(Sean Smith)

Geometeric Flower

I liked the workshop.

It was interesting to learn about another culture‟s artwork.

I noticed that it is a temporary art and yet it is so intricate.

I liked using the bright color.

I liked Karlos‟s flower, with the beans in it and all the colors.

(Isaac)

Kolam

It was awesome. I think I would do something like this in my spare time.

The colors are beautiful.

I liked several other pieces.

They were creative and many stuck out.

My favorite was „the Layer‟.

(Courtney Boston)

The Sign

My mind was blank at first

then I found an idea and stuck with it.

Everyone else‟s work looked good too.

I liked this workshop

because it is different than what we have usually done.

I wish I had more time to do this.

(Donovan Beatty)

Blood Elephant

I really liked this project, it was fun and I got to be creative.

I liked the part where the class made the elephants and designs with stencils and sand.

I didn‟t like how messy the sand was and how it got everywhere.

I liked the table with Shirleys artwork because it had many nice colors in it.

(Rascha Scales)

I really think it was fun and different. I loved using the sand and stencils.

I really liked the colors.

I liked Issac‟s „Elephant‟

Travel to Space

I like Rangoli art. It is fun and creative.

At first I was only planning on doing a spaceship

but then Mr Robinson told us

that we could add more so we did.

I like the artwork because it is colorful

and it look cool.

We added an awesome background.

My favorite was the one made by Tyla, a bird.

It looks amazing.

She worked really hard on the drawing

and pouring the sand very carefully.

It looks very colorful and creative.

(Joy Alcontara)

Ahh! Flashbacks of Pre-K! Sandbox and the finger-painting!

This is where creativity knows no bounds, where everything goes.

This allows for fun in the form of perfect creativity that isn‟t easy to find.

This shows only one form of structuring and the rest was just swirling sand basically

thrown on it, calm catfish. With the creativity, this gives anything, formless or structured,

to be made. In contrast to my piece.

(Jack Boyd)

The Colorful Elephant

It was difficult in the beginning but we gradually began to use techniques

that helped us place the sand on the paper.

I knew the act that art can be done with simple things.

Garret and his group:-

Their piece was very creative because they made it up by themselves.

I liked the flower they made because it also looks like a guy with a mowhawk.

When we began this project I thought it was very interesting

because I had never done anything like this before.

I was excited to learn art from a different culture.

At first it was difficult to control the sand and keep it from running into the wrong places.

Eventually we figured it out and began making an elephant which is a religious symbol.

After we had done the outline we began decorating it with different colors.

Our group worked well together and we were able to come up with creative designs.

I liked Tyla‟s piece because she drew the design

and was creative with the colors and designs.

(Sydney Fadel)

I think the shape of this piece isn‟t very unique

mainly because our group didn‟t create the stencils.

However I do know that our group incorporated several Indian colors into the Rangoli art.

I think my group did a very good job in terms of craftsmanship as well.

My favorite piece was one done by Tyla.

She did a very good job of rendering a bird with a lower in its mouth.

I like her use of color and also the craftsmanship of the piece.

I enjoyed making with the different colors of sand and I also enjoyed this piece

because I happen to be a fan of Indian culture and art, and this piece allows me to

discover more about the art of the country.

(Ebony Waters)

Flower Beans

This flower is amazing. It has got beans and stuff. The pink, orange and multicolor sand

workd together. There is a lot of thought that didn‟t go into this. We used a flower

template and just put sand where we thought it should go. But it is unique.

Dalia & Hannah‟s group such a simplistic design that it looks so nice.

The purple elephant is cool.

There is green, pink, and blue and the beans are perfectly placed.

I don‟t think any of us have worked on this before.

We all did very well, I think.

I liked working on this project (although it took a little time)

It is the project where I ACTUALLY was able to work with others in success!

I‟m VERY satisfied. It is a flower with yellow, pink orange and beans.

Oh! and a mix of all colors, and also some red outside of a stencil.

It‟s great.

Charlotte and Patrick made an odd (but cool) piece; it is stencil-made.

It‟s a woman, red around followed by yellow. It is warm colored so I like it.

I like red and it is so interesting and simple.

(Garret Lefever)

This project was pretty neat because I am not used to doing artwork with sand.

The picture we created was awesome because we incorporated beans

with a flower made of colorful sand.

Dalia‟s picture was really cool because the sand gradually went away

from the body of their elephant.

Even though it was one color it was really cool looking.

(Sarah Nagy)

Elephant‟s Love

It was actually very fun to do art with sand and other kitchen objects.

The stenciling was a little hard because I couldn‟t stop shaking.

Overall I am very happy with my work and my partners work.

The colors are very bright and enjoyable.

But my very favorite thing was putting on the beans.

I hope we can do this again.

(Hannah McNiece)

This piece of artwork was done in a rush, but done well.

My partner was really helpful during this process, which greatly helped.

I believe this is the best and beautifulest we could have done in this format.

Of course there is always room for improvement.

I think it was done well with creativity and good will.

(Dalia Namak)

Flower and Earth

This drawing is awesome!

It is a flower depicting how the earth,

once green and lush is becoming brown dirt.

The flower shows the beauty in all the world.

I like the „Elephant‟ that Hannah McNiece created.

She has a creative use of beans and their placement.

Plus the colors are nice.

(Sommers Hardy)

The Natural Elephant

I made an elephant from sand and lentil,

kidney, and chick pea beans.

I think it looks like an elephant.

I saw Sommers flower that has lots of different colors

of sand and a kidney bean

that represents the center of the flower.

(Duanna Caperton)

The Detailed Elephant

This elepant is very vibrant with colors and very detailed.

The Rangoli art is a very simple, easy and temporary art

that any one can do.

(Mikah Douglas)

Time Alone

Well, today we all learned about Indian Art (Rangoli).

I like doing Rangoli art because we can express the different expression

and different colors we want on our art. I think that our piece was alright.

I really like Tyla‟s piece of Rangoli art because it was colorful and very creative.

(Leo Bacho)

Calm Catfish

I really had a nice experience working on this piece.

I let my hands flow smoothly with the sifting sands.

Just like the flowing sands the fish is swimming

in the water.

My favorite piece of Rangoli was Tyla‟a drawing.

She went through the basics of drawing,

and she added more and gave it its own personality.

(Herman Odens)

Tropical Bird

I enjoyed Rangoli Art.

Before Mr. Sandhu came in I was unaware that this was temporary art.

I now know that it was an activity for housewives while alone in their houses.

The part I found most difficult was dispensing the sand.

My favorite piece was Joy and jack‟s artwork.

They used a simple stencil and used their creativity to make additions.

(Tyla Brown)

The Garden of Eden

I truly enjoyed participating in this activity

because my creativity was able to go free without limitation.

As for my peer‟s pieces, I favored Herman‟s, his creation

reminded me of Goldfish, a delicious treat.

(Daniel Watson)
