SEMESTER 1 FINAL PROJECT

Theology 9—Ms. Vonderhaar

The final project will be 50% of the final exam grade. Please follow these

guidelines:

1. Perform ten (10) “random acts of kindness” that you will keep track of over the

next week. These may be as simple as donating food/clothing to the needy, or

shoveling snow for a neighbor. The acts may not be done for relatives. If you

have questions, please see me before engaging in the activity.

2. Purchase a poster board, size 12” x 18” on which to paste your ten activities.

You may draw the activity, photograph and print it, use clip-art, or use magazine

clippings to depict the activity.

3. Below each of the ten items, write a short explanation of what was involved.

4. On the back of the poster, staple a piece of notebook paper (or typing paper)

and write three, complete sentences explaining in detail what you did for each

activity. Please proofread before submitting! The minimum written requirement is

30 sentences.

5. Present your poster to the class.

1.Helped Bella carry her things to class Bella had to use crutches to walk after having knee surgery. I helped her carry her books and backpack to classes so she was able to just focus on walking. By doing this I was able to help her recover and not be late to class.

2. Donated clothes to goodwill Over the week I went through my closet to find clothes that were to small and I no longer wore. I packed all the clothes I found in a bag. Then my family and I drove to Goodwill and donated them.

3. Walked my neighbor's dogMy neighbor is elderly and can not walk her dog as much as she would like. I took her two dogson a walk everyday this week. I walked them around our neighborhood.

4. Gave my allowance to a Salvation Army I do chores weekly and help my family to earn an allowance. I saved up money from four weeks of chores. Then I donated my money to the Salvation Army on their website.

5. Helped fourth graders with math homework My brother and four of his friends came over to our house during the week. They were doing homework and were struggling with the concept of distributive property. I helped them all learn how to distribute correctly and solve the problems.

6. Helped rake my neighbor's leaves One of my neighbors went out of town for the week so I raked her leaves while she was gone. I went out every two days and raked the new leaves. She was very happy when she got home and her lawn was clean.

7. Made lunches for homeless Over the thanksgiving break my family and I made lunches and handed them out to the homeless. We made sandwiches and put water in brown bags. Then we drove around and handed them out.

8. Picked up trash around my neighborhoodThis week I went around and picked up trash around my neighborhood. I walked along the side of the road with a trash bag. I was able to collect enough trash to fill half a black bag.

9. Helped Charleigh with her math homeworkCharleigh was struggling with patterns and rules in math. I helped tutor her after school a coupledays these week. I was able to help her understand the unit.

10. Volunteer at real estate company I went to work with my mom but instead of playing on my phone like usually I went around and asked everyone how I could help around. I spent the day making copies, filing, and filling out forms for strangers. Everyone was very appreciative that I was helping.
