A BRIEF REPORT OF ACTIVITIES

Secretary
Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar, a branch of the Ramakrishna Math
and Ramakrishna Mission, was started in 1971 to serve the tribal people of Arunachal
Pradesh at the request of our Late Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi. It has now
completed 47 years of service in the field of Education, Medical and other Philanthropic services Students of various tribes come here from different parts of Arunachal. It has now 470 students, out of which 416 are resident. Its services are open to all, irrespective of caste, creed and religion. The reason why education has been chosen as the specialfield of service is that the right type of education is considered to be the best and most effective means of doing lasting good to the society. We, therefore, have been trying to impart academic education based on the educational principles of Swami Vivekananda,
retaining the best traditions of our country while instructing them in modern arts, science,
culture, crafts and other vocational studies.
The academic session began this year on 4th May 2019. Classes began
after a special assembly on 6th May 2019. The results of the academic session 2018 19 were declared on 04th April
2019. TheAptitude test of class I and XI were held on 17th February and 14th May 2019
Academic Achievements: In class X, 34 students appeared and 33 got passed. 32 students passed in 1st
Division and 01 in 2nd Division. O4 students scored 90% and above, 10 scored 80% and above. Master JirdamGameh was the highest scorer with 98.00% (1st in Arunachal Pradesh) and in class XII, 27 students appeared and 26 passed, 25 passed in 1st Division
and 01 in 2nd Division. 02 students scored 90% and above, 06 students scored 80% and above, 09 scored 75% and above. Master Kime Jiku was the highest scorer with 93.40% (3rd among boys in Arunachal Pradesh).
Mst. Jirdam Gameh of Class X (2018- 19) was selected for NTSE Stage - II. Master JirdamGameh and Master Kime Jiku received Dera Natung Award from the
Department of Education, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh for their performance in Class X
and XIll board examinations respectively.

Sports and Games Achievements: There are six playgrounds and a stadium. Students enjoy playing games like
Football, Volleyball, Basketball & Cricket etc.; Carom and Table Tennis are played as indoor games.
Inter block/house tournaments were held among the students in various games. In the Higher Secondary section, Acharya Ramanuja block was the winner in
football, Acharya Madhva Block was the winner in volleyball & basketball and Acharya Shankara Block in cricket. In the Secondary section, SamratAshoka House was the winner in football & cricket and Rana Pratap House in volleyball & basketbal.
45th Annual Athletic meet was held on 13th & 14th December 2019. Sri Akan
Regon, Extra Assistant Commissioner, Deomali, Dist. Tirap, Arunachal Pradesh, the
chief guest inaugurated the meet and addressed the students. Mst. Wangkum Ramwa & Mst. Saigang Bangyang of class VI, Mst. Nokman Wangpan of class IX & Mst. Phochoi Wangsa of class XIl was judged champions in their respective groups. Swami
Achyuteshananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar declared the meet
closed.

Other Achievements:To imbibe the spirit of competition our students are encouraged to participate in
various contests.
97 students took part in the Mathematics Olympiad (Class V to XII), conducted
by AISMTA and 03 were awarded Gold Medals. 64 students took part in Science Olympiad conducted by AISSTA.74 students participated in UN information test (Class V to VIll) conducted by USO. 90 students took part in National Mathematics and Science Olympiad conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). 84 students took part in the Olympiad
of English Language conducted by Silver Zone Foundation.
Master Nokman Wangpan of Class IX secured 1st position in District Level
Science Seminar. MasterAkai Wangsa of Class IX secured 3rd Position in District level science congress. Master Kamran Kanglom of Class XI (2018- 19) and Master Dagge Badakof Class XIl (2018 - 19) received 2nd and 3rd prizes in the District level Essay
writing competition on 'Arunachal Rising Campaign'. Master Wanglat Socia of Class IX was selected in the State level Merit Scholarship Examination conducted at Itanagar.
Festivals and Celebrations: Annual Prize Giving Ceremony was held on 30th January 2019 at Vivekananda
Sabhagriha. The function started at 10.00 a.m. amidst the blowing of conch & bugle sound of drums & bagpiper and cheering of students. Ms.Madhurani Teotia, IAS, Secretary Department of Education, Arunachal Pradesh was the Chief Guest and Revered Swami
Vishwatmanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Varanasi presided over the function. Swami Achyuteshananda, Secretary welcomed the guests and audience. A brief report of School Activities was read out by the Principal Br. Tadatmachaitanya. Chief Guest and Guest of Honour then released the School Magazine
"Narottam" Revered Swami Vishwatmanandaji Maharaj gave away the prizes to the winners
of Sports and Games and addressed the students. Academic Prizes and various other
awards were distributed by the Ms.Madhurani Teotia and thereafter she addressed the gathering and praised the culture, etiquette and decorum of the students of Narottam
Nagar Mission. Swami Premaghanananda, Asstt. Secretary proposed the vote of thanks. Snacks packets were distributed among the teachers, guardians and guests.

The valedictory function for the outgoing students of Class-X and Xll was held on Sunday. 31st January 2019 at 2.00 p.m. in the Vivekananda Auditorium. All were
presented with books and Laminated Photo stand of Group photo of their respective
class and School Magazine Narottam, as a token of love. All the outgoing boys took
blessings from the Swamijis and teachers. Special tiffin was served to al.
A parents meeting was convened on 18th March 2019. A large number of parents
and guardians attended the meeting.
A programme to welcome the freshers (Naveen Varan) was held on 16th June
2019. Special puja of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna was performed to evoke the blessings
of the Holy Trio for the overall betterment of the newcomers. The new students took
vOws(VidyarthiVrata) by offering vilwa leaves in the sacred fire (Homa). They introduced themselves in a meeting held at Thakur Ghar. The senior students welcomed the freshers
with bouquet and locket of Thakur & Maa. Cooked prasad was served to allthe students, teachers, GDA staff with their family members and guests. Benedictory address was given by Most Revered Srimat Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj, Vice-President,
Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Howrah, West Bengal. In the evening at Vivekananda Sabhagriha many of the fresher presented various
cutural programme. Swami Achyuteshananda, Secretary welcomed the students and others present. Most Revered Suhitanandaji Maharaj, Vice-President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math addressed the gathering. The programme ended with words of gratitude by Br Tadatmachaitanya, Principal.
National festivals like Independence day, Republic day, Intermational Day of Yoga, National Youth Day, Teachers' day and birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda; festivals like Krishna Janmashtami, Shivaratri, Holi, Kali Puja, Saraswati Puja, Christmas Eve, RathaYatra etc. were observed with due solemnity and joy.
World Environment Day was observed on 5th June 2019 as Vanamahotsava with the help of the Forest Department by planting 340 saplings of different varieties. Before plantation, a meeting was organized where SwamiAchyuteshananda, Secretary welcomed the gathering and Mr Lichi Karlo, Forest Range Officer, spoke on the importance of the day. All were served light refreshments.

after the regular inspection held on 24th July 2019 Scholarship
Like previous years, this year also 26 students got scholarship from Govt. of
Arunachal Pradesh and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Howrah.
Special Facilities for Tirap District During the year 2018-19, 112 students from Tirap received FREE education.
An approximate amount of Rs.1,64,12,603.00 had been spent for the maintenance of these students.
Medical Aid All the students and staff members are provided with medical aid under a
qualified doctor assisted by pharmacist and attendant. The indoor hospital Swasti has
30 beds with separate arrangements for isolation cases. X-Ray and Pathological tests
are done. Total 346 indoor cases and 4247 outdoor cases were treated during the year.
The free mobile medical unit which serves the nearby villages thrice a week
served 1817 patients during the year. Besides, free medical check-up and treatment
camps for the benefit of the local populace were held.
On 8th December 2019 a Free Medical Checkup and Treatment Camp was organized with the help of Lions Club of Dibrugarh, Assam. 13 (thirteen) specialist doctors (Psychiatrist, Orthopedician, Dermatologist, Ophthalmologist, Dentist, Medicine, General Physician & Pathologist) who are generally unavailable for poor villagers residing in remote jungle areas attended the camp. A total no of 299 patients were treated and supplied with free medicines.
Vocational Training Centre: Under vocational training, six tribal girls received training in weaving, knitting
and tailoring. The training is free of any charges. The trainees are provided with free
boarding and lodging.
Dairy and Poultry: The Dairy and Poultry unit supplies fresh milk, eggs and chicken to the kitchen
for the benefit of resident students. During the year under report 28,784.8 tr Mik, 1,76,820 nos. Egg and 5757.10 kg Broiler were produced.

Agriculture Under Land Utilization Unit varieties of vegetables are produced in our vegetable
garden throughout the year. The total production during the year is 11914 kg. There is a regular supply of fresh vegetables to our kitchen and staff members. Besides, 9288 kg of tealeaf and 3830 kg of dry coffee seeds were produced during the year.
There medicinal plant parks covering a total area of about 10,000 sqmtr. has
Kalmegh, Darchini, Turmeric, Betel leaf, Sarpagandha, Ghritakumari, Amla, Pipli, Neem, Rudraksha, Vasaka, Blackpapper, Bel, Chakunda, Nagdona, Gandal, Nishinda, Gulancha, Mankachu, Lajavati, Tulsi, Bahera, Nayantara, Patharkunchi, Haritaki etc.
In the fishery, seven ponds are maintained to give a regular supply of fish to the
kitchen. Total production during the year is 649 kg.
Visit of Most Revered Swami Suhitanandaji Mahara Revered Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj, Vice President, Ramakrishna Math and
Mission, Belur Math, West Bengal visited Narottam Nagar from 15th to 19th June 2019 On 15th June 2019 Revered Maharaj installed new portraits of Holy Trio at
Temple at Mopaya village of Arunachal Pradesh. Earlier the villagers accorded a warm reception at the entrance of the village. Revered Maharaj was ushered to a specially erected platform where the villagers felicitated Swamiji and performed some tribal folk dance.
On 16th June 2019 Revered Maharaj installed new photographs of Holy Trio in the main prayer hall at Secondary Section. Later in the day he also took part in the Naveen Varan (Fresher's Welcome) and blessed the New Comers.
On 17th June 2019 Most Revered Maharaj, has kindly given Mantra Diksha to 78 persons including 16 tribal people at the main prayer hall of Narottam Nagar.
In the evening Revered Maharaj inaugurated "Sarada Sadan" - the dining hall
for monastics amidst Vedic chanting by Monastic inmates and blowing of conches
On 18th June 2019 Most Revered Maharaj has kindly given Mantra Diksha to 87 persons including 2 tribal people at the main prayer hall of Narottam Nagar.
On 18th Evening bicycles were distributed to fifty poor and needy persons hailing from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam by Most Revered Maharaj. Sri WangkiLowang. Hon'ble Minister for PHE & WS, DoTCL, Arunachal Pradesh also graced the occasion. On 19th morning Revered Maharaj left Narottam Nagar for Belur Math.

Concluding programme of the 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda's Chicago Address
The concluding programme of 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda's Chicago Addresses was held on 11th September 2019 at Vivekananda Sabhagriha. Earlier Honourable Guests were escorted by the school band from the main gate to Vivekananda Sabhagriha with the offering flowers to Bhagavan Buddha in the garden in between. Chief Guest Sri Chowna Meinji, DCM, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. In his welcome address, Swami Achyutesh ananda ji Secretary, expressed his gratitude the Hon'ble DCM for honouring his commitment in spite of adverse weather that forced hours of delay to be airborne. He also submitted a
memorandum conveying the needs for repair of the road in front of Ramakrishna Mission,
water treatment plant in the institution's campus and construction of a hostel building which was readily accepted by the Hon'ble DCM.
In his speech, Sri WangkiLowngi.Hon'ble Minister PHE & ws, DoTCL pointed
out that Swamiji is the icon of many including many great personalities. Swamiji has
brought great glory to our culture. Amidst various religious leaders, Swami Vivekananda mesmerized the crowd with his very first sentence. Swami Vishwesanandaji Maharaj, in his Presidential Address, reflected that Swami Vivekananda stood up for the whole
nation there and by the end of his speech the glory of Hinduism evolved.
Throughout the year, Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar had organized various competitions viz. Story Telling., Drawing, Recitation, Quiz and Essay Writing
etc. to mark 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda's Chicago Addresses amongst various students of nearby schools at different levels from classes 1 to 12.As many as 255 students along with their respective school teachers, principals attended the
programme and received prizes and certificates. Total 12 schools participated in the said competition from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Addressing the people, Sri Chowna Mein ji felt fortunate to be present in this august gathering. He recalled his childhood days and funny side of hostel life. He said "1
cherish my childhood days, the people who shaped me to become the D.C.M. of this state. You all are blessed to have such a beautiful institution -the man making institution and having a secular vision."

Capacity Building Programme on Remodeled Structure of Assessmernt: A day long Capacity-building Programme on Remodeled Structure of
Assessment was organized in co-operation with Centre of Excellence, CBSE, Guwahati on 28th December 2019. 39 teachers attended the programme from different schools of Tirap District of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
Sri Subramanya Kumar Sripada, the resource person dealt in detail about the subject. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates and mementoes to the participant teachers.
Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Vidyalaya (A Co-educational Primary School): Anon-residential primary school (from Standard LKGto V) to provide education
to the children of nearby areas has 201 students (both boys and girls) on its roll. Besides academic studies, the children are trained in value education, music and dance, yoga, heaith and hygiene, computer etc.

The annual function of session 2018 19 was held on 23rd February at Vivekananda Sabhagriha. Mrs Chango Lowang, Deomali, Dist. Tirap, Arunachal Pradesh was the Chief Guest. Mrs Sobha Roy welcomed the guests and audience. The introductory speech was given by Br. Tatadmachaitanya, In-Charge. A brief report of School Activities was read out by the Principal Smt. Banti Borah. All were provided with refreshments.

Teachers' Day was observed at School assembly hall on 05th September 2019. Students performed cultural programme during Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations at Mahavir Stadium of the institution.

Annual Sports meet was held on 17th December at the school ground. Sri Wangpha Lowang inaugurated the meet. A large number of guardians along with guests took part and encouraged the children.
Inauguration of Renovated building of Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Vidyalaya The renovated building of 'Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Vidyalaya' was
dedicated by Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister, Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday, 11th September 2019 amidst prayers by the Vidyalaya students. This was followed by offering fiowers to the holy trio by the honourable guests amidst Vedic Chanting by the monastic members of Ramakrishna Order.
This non-formal co-educational centre started in 2006 under patronage from persons belonging to Ramakrishna Mission; Narottam Nagar was accorded the status of 'Ramakrishna Mission School' by the authorities of Ramakrishna Mission Headquarters Belur Math in 2018. Subsequently, thorough renovation and addition of classrooms saw the erstwhile make-shift arrangement reappear in a new avatar in 2019 renamed as
Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Vidyalaya'. This non-residential primary school caters to
the needs of inhabitants between Dirok and Deomali of Arunachal Pradesh. Other than ciassrooms, the school is having a computer lab, a music room and a fine art room. Sri Wangki Lowangji, Hon'ble Minister of PHE, WS & DoTCL, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh also graced the inaugural function as the Guest of Honour. Rev. Swami Vishweshanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar, Sri P. Thungon, D.C., Khonsa, Sri Kardak Riba, S.P. Khonsa and Shri PengaTato, APCS, ADC, Deomali were amongst the other dignitaries present during the inaugural function.
Vivek Vikash: Three units of Vivek Vikash with our own financial assistance is being
implemented at Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Vidyalaya, Narottam Nagar, Sree Ramakrishna Seva Samity, Deomali and at Mopaya Village of Deomali Circle for the Physical, Mental and Intellectual Development of children. Children are freely provided with coaching, Yoga practice, nutritive supplement daily and exercise materials, toiletries, clothing are provided annually.

Under winter relief programme 450 Blankets were distributed among the poor and needy
Under Distress Relief work we have distributed 4029 pcs of gents and ladies adult garments among 4029 persons in 6 villages of Arunachal and Assam.
Under fire relief 22 Blankets, gents and ladies garments, 128 CGI Sheets and a sum of rupees 420001- were distributed to various fire victims of Deomali Sub division, Arunachal Pradesh.
