** Aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks of the top-four subjects in order of the marks secured by a candidate. Marks in compulsory Environmental Education/Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. However, if the subject “Environmental Science” is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.

** 5% relaxation in aggregate & subject (where applicable) for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates.

4. Issue & Submission of Application Forms (Online only) :

A. Date : 29 July 2020 (11.00 a.m.) to 31 August 2020 (5.00 p.m.)

B. Students should keep with them Admit Cards as generated from the Portal

and the money receipt of the application fees. These may be required at different

stages of the admission process and even during the actual time of arrival at the

hostel.

C. The students will be required to upload

a. recent passport size photograph & Signature (JPG format, < 100 kb).

D. After the final selection, admission fees will be received online after completing

some other procedural requirement which may include counseling over video or

audio call. However, regarding all these, there will be a separate notification when

the Provisional List of the Selected Candidates will be notified.

E. Important Points to note :

a. The college is fully residential one and all students will be required to stay

on campus-hostels mandatorily. No day-scholar system will be allowed at

any point of time. However, given the situation cropped up due to the

recent pandemic, the hostel will remain closed even after admission till

further notice.

b. Students will be intimated regarding their arrival at the hostel and allied

matters in due course.

c. Students are further requested to look into the website for different

notifications. Students should not expect any personal email intimation

from the college authority.

d. Students should carefully read the rules and regulations that are available

on the college web portal and Prospectus. Prospectus will be available on

the college web portal.

e. Students who are unable to pay the online application fees due to their

economically weak background are requested to mail to

[email protected] with relevant documents as attachment.

f. Scholarships are granted to financially weak students.

Note : Special Conditions:

i. Science group: Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics

Humanities Group: English, Sanskrit, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Bengali

ii. A student with Honours in any one subject of the Humanities group will take any two other generic/general

subjects taking at least one from Humanities Group

iii. A student with Honours in any one subject of the Science group will take any two other generic/general

subjects taking at least one from Science Group

iv. No student should take the same subject from both the pools. Students are also not allowed to take two subjects from one pool.

v. The following four combinations given below cannot be taken together either as Honours / General (Generic) combinations or as two General (Generic) combinations.

a) History, Mathematics

b) Chemistry, Sanskrit

c) Political Science, Electronics

d) Computer Science, Bengali

vi. Special conditions for admission to the Honours courses:

A) Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) vocational Examinations

conducted by West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training cannot

apply.

B) A candidate shall not be allowed to take up Honours in the subject under heading

A if he has not passed the subject(s) mentioned under the heading B in the HS /

equivalent examination.

8. Selection Procedure for English is mentioned below :

A. English :

a) There will be an online Home Assignment Test of 1 hour 30-minute

duration carrying 50 marks. Candidates will be required to attempt two

questions, each carrying 25 marks.

b) While filling up the online application form, candidates must provide

their email id and phone number (preferably a WhatsApp number).

c) The college will send the Home Assignment to the email id provided by

the candidates.

d) Candidates should mention their name, application number, name of the

+2 Board from which passed, marks secured in English in +2 and phone

number at the top of the blank paper where they will write out the

Assignment answers.

e) The answers must be written in the candidates’ own hand writing

(preferably in black ink) which may be verified at any later stage after

the pandemic situation gets over.

f) The candidates should also mention on their answer script the precise

time when they have received the Home Assignment mail and the

precise time they have completed their writing. This span shall be

limited to 1 hour and 30 minutes with a maximum buffer time of 15

minutes.

g) The Home Assignment Test will be held on 4 September 2020 from 11.30

am to 1 pm. The college will try to send the topic/question through email

by 11.25 am on 4 September.

h) The actual time count of 1 hour and 30 minutes with a maximum buffer

time of 15 minutes, under all possible circumstances, will start from

11.30 am.

i) If a candidate does not receive the Home Assignment by 11.45 am, he

must report to [email protected] by sending a mail or contact the

college at the number 9163449776. For such a type of delay candidates

will not be discredited.

j) However, after 11.45 am no request of time-accommodation will be

entertained and the candidate will be marked absent.

k) After writing the answer scripts, candidates shall send the scanned

copy of the answer script in one single legible .pdf format to the email id

[email protected] within 1 hour and 30 minutes with a maximum

buffer time of 15 minutes.

l) If a candidate fails to send the copy within this time limit, he will be

marked absent in the Test.

m) Any technical issue related to sending the answer script should be

informed within this time limit.

n) After the Home Assignment Test there will be a short-listing of the

candidates eligible for the next level of the admission process.

o) This short-listing will be done based on

p) The short-listed candidates will be required to attend a vive voce

through video call/audio call/WhatsApp call to be organized by the

Marks obtained in Physical Science in case of Madhyamik Examination and

equivalent (100) / Marks obtained in Science in case of Class X level board

examinations where there is no separate Physical Science Marks are

There will be no separate written test or viva voce examination in this

subject.

If there arises a tie among the final short-listed candidates, the tie-

breaking will be done based on the following serial:

a) 1st
