Beginning of a day in Ramadan

People who fast:• Eat a morning meal

called sahoor (it’s not breakfast!)

• Foul medammes, eggs, oatmeal, honey, fruit, and/or good fats

• Stop eating at dawn

End of Day in Ramadan

People who fast:

• Eat an evening meal at sunset called iftar

• Eat dates

• Perform special prayer called taraweh

• Step 1: Choose your paper color

• Step 2: Cut a 1 in. strip off the short side; trade strip w/ friend for added color; write your name on it!

• Step 3: Make the "Hot Dog" fold (length-wise)

• Step 4: Mark line for your cutting stopping point

• Step 5: Cut strips starting at the FOLD; your paper will look like a giant comb once it's all cut!

• Step 6: Unfold and decorate as desired

• Step 7: Staple top/bottom and fasten handle
