ICCPRamadan Advice from ICCP

My dear Brothers and sisters, Through the month of Ramadan all the rewards for good deeds are

multiplied. An angel comes on the first night of the month of Ramadan saying; O you, who seek blessing,

come forward, and O you, who seek evil stop” For those who seek extra rewards and blessings, we give

you a compilation of recommendations.

Night Prayer: (which means Taraweeh prayers), Abu Hurayra(May Allah be pleased with him) said, the

prophet(SAW) said:”Whoever observes Ramadan with faith and sincerity, Allah will wipe out all of his sins”

Narrated by Al Bukhari and Muslim. The prophet (SAW) said” Whoever prays with the imam until he finishes, Allah

will give him the reward for praying all night” Narrated by Al Tirmidi, Abu Dawood and An Nisaay.

Reciting Qur’an: The prophet (SAW) said” Fasting and reciting the Qur’an intercede for you on the

day of judgment” Narrated by Ahmed, and it is a sound hadith

▬▬▬▬

Increasing your Charity: The prophet (SAW) was the most generous, and in Ramadan he used to

increase his generosity. Anas Ibn Malik said that, the prophet (SAW) was asked, what is the best

charity? He said “ Charity in Ramadan” Narrated by Al Tarmidi.

▬▬▬▬

Feeding fasting people: Even with little food or drink, the prophet (SAW) said” whoever feeds a

fasting person, Allah will reward him the reward of the fasting person, and this will not decrease the

rewards of the fasting person” Narrated by Ahmed, An-Nisaay and

At-Tirmidi.

In another narration, Salaman Al Farisi said “We said, O prophet of Allah! Some of us can’t afford to

feed the fasting person, the prophet (SAW) said, Allah gives the reward to whoever feeds the fasting

person with a sip of milk, a date or a sip of water”

Staying in the Masjid until sunrise at least once a week. The prophet (SAW) said” Whoever

prays Fajr in congregation and stays glorifying Allah until sunrise, and prays two rakaats, his

reward is equal to the reward of performing Hajj and Ummrah.” Narrated by At-Tirmidi

Anas Ibn Malik said, the prophet (SAW) said” Complete, Complete, Complete”

▬▬▬▬

Forgiving people, Avoiding lies, and Abstaining from vain talk: to protect the fasting and to get the

blessings, Al Bukhari narrated that, Abu Hurayra (May Allah be pleased with him) said, the prophet

(SAW) said:” whoever does not leave giving false statements and acting upon it, he does not need to

abstain from eating and drinking”

Trying hard in the last ten days of Ramadan : During last ten days of the month of Ramadan, the

prophet (SAW) used work harder, and spent most of the night in prayers, and made sure to wake

his family” Al Bukhari and Muslim narrated that, Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) said, once

the last ten days of Ramadan arrive, the prophet (SAW) used to work harder, Spent his night

praying, and woke up his family to join him.”

▬▬▬▬

The night of Power: observing the night of power in the last ten days of Ramadan, Ahmed narrated

in his Musnad that, Obada Ibn Assamit (May Allah be pleased with him) said, the prophet (SAW)

said “ It is in Ramadan, observe it in the last ten days, in the odd days, either the night of the 21st, or

the 23rd, or 25th, or the 27th , or the last night of Ramadan, whoever finds it, his past sins will be

forgiven.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, make sure that you apply the following advice:

Try to break your fast as soon as you hear the Adhan, the prophet (SAW) said:” people would be blessed

as long as they speed up breaking their fast.” Narrated by Al Bukhari

Supplication at the time of breaking the fast, The prophet (SAW) said :”For the fasting person, when he

breaks his fast, his supplication will be always accepted.” Narrated by Ibn Maja. Abdullah Ibn Umar,

used to say when he breaks his fast:”O Allah I ask you with your mercy which overspreads everything,

forgive my sins.”

Make sure that you eat before you start your fast, even if it is just a drink of water. The prophet (SAW)

said:” Eat the morning meal in Ramadan, in it there is a blessing.” Narrated by Al Bukhari and Muslim.

The prophet (SAW) said:” The morning meal in Ramadan is a blessed meal, so do not ignore it, even if it

is just a drink of water, because Allah and His angels send prayers to the one who eats his morning meal

in Ramadan.” Narrated by Ahmed

Itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan: The prophet (SAW) used to make Itikaf during the last ten days of

Ramadan until he met died, after his death his wives continued making Itikaf.

#It is permissible for a sister to do Itikaf if her husband or father approves it.

Supplication on the night of power: Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) said, “I said, O prophet of

Allah, What supplication should I say on the night of power? He said:” say, O Allah , you are all

forgiving, love to forgive, forgive my sins” Narrated by Ahmed, Ibn Maja and An Nisaay

Ramadan Charity: Mandatory for every muslim, who has the means, It purifies the giver, from any

shortcomings that happened in Ramadan.
