The German and the US Navy have successfully performed more than 350 flight tests and operational firings under real threat scenarios against a variety of targets including Harpoon, Exocet and supersonic M2.5 Vandal achieving a kill-performance above 95 %.

RAM has proven first-shot kills on every target in self-defense scenarios such as lowest level sea-skimming, diving and highly maneuvering profiles in single, stream and wave attacks.

RAM is a fire-and-forget inner-layer missile system for ship self-defense against Anti Ship Missiles (ASM), helicopters, aircraft and surface targets.RAM was especially designed to engage the most challenging threats and is the only ASM defense system capable of effectively coping with multiple and high density raids, even in littoral scenarios.

The German Navyrelies on the RAMship self-defenseweapon system forits Class 143AFast Patrol Boats,their K130 Corvettesas well as the F122, F123, F124, F125 Frigates.The US Navy has installed RAM on more than 40 ships particularly on high value units like Aircraft Carriers, Amphibious Assault and Transport Ships. Recently the US Navy decided for RAM on the LCS Freedom class and SeaRAM on the LCS Independent class.

RAM has been in production since 1989, isnow operational on approx. 100 ships of the navies of Germany, USA, Greece, South Korea and is already in procurement for UAE, Egypt and Turkey.In total, nearly 200 weapon systems and more than 4500 missiles have been produced and delivered by end of 2011.
