Heritage UpdateThe second phase of demolition is well underway. We are currently deconstructing the old brewing vats, which will be reused as ornaments around the finished project. A fifth tower crane has been erected to serve the heritage building.

We have removed the temporary cofferdam on the east side of the River Wandle, and we are currently installing sheet piles to the west bank of the river. Flood defence walls will commence in the coming weeks. Enabling works are well progressed on the west bank of the Wandle and we will be creating a new planting area in the coming weeks.

In early December we will be erecting new hoarding on Wandsworth High Street – we will confirm the exact date nearer the time.

South Thames College Site Visits

Recently we have been working with students from South Thames College who have been working on an assignment on sustainable construction.

To help the students understand how modern construction sites can be sustainable we have been showing the students around the Ram Quarter site. Almost 40 students have visited the site this month to see some of our initiatives.

Ardmore staff members spoke to the students about their jobs and the daily tasks of a construction site, and on-site brewer John Hatch gave a talk on the site’s rich history.

Window Cleaning

We are currently contacting local residents to book window cleaning appointments for December.

Christmas Donations

This Christmas we will be making another donation to the Salvation Army. We are in the process of arranging for staff to collect food donations on-site, and all donations will be boxed up and given to charities supporting local people local to Ram Quarter.

Resident Surgeries

Our weekly resident surgeries continue to be held on Thursdays from 2-4pm. Please contact our resident liaison officer Annamarie McNamara on 07789 361 944 for any enquiries.

Wandsworth Society Visit

Ardmore and Greenland hosted a visit by the Wandsworth society. Ten members had a tour of the new build and heritage works. David kirk noted that the visit was “hugely enjoyable and interesting.’’
