A. Leadership & Strategic Direction6. The ELL team has increased by 3 for a total of 5 ELL Specialists

C. Curriculum & Instruction13. ELD instruction is being implemented in grades 2-12 16. A document has been developed and shared with HS regarding

how to make accommodations for ELLs in Senior Research based on language proficiency level

19. & 20. A guidance document has been developed to support educators in making core ELA accessible to ELLs at the HS

in 2013-14 with the goal of adding additional ELL TLs in the 2014-15 SY

Changes to ELL Community Leaders Advisory Panel

• Format of meetings and schedule of meetings have been changed– Meetings will take place 3 times per year

– Meetings will become work sessions so that the Panel can act as development partners on specific projects • The first work session will happen on 01/08/2014• The Panel will work with the ELL team/Workgroups to develop an

ELL Parent Outreach document for schools and the district

– After each meeting ELL team will produce talking points for community members to share with their contingency groups

• The ELL Workgroups will be restructured in order to ensure better communication and seamless efforts amongst the groups

Changes to ELL Workgroups

• All ELL Workgroup meetings will happen after school and through online shared spaces (i.e. Padlets)– Eliminate use the ELL Chair/Co-Chair sessions in order to avoid taking

teachers out of classrooms for extended periods of time

• ELL team leads on each of the Workgroups will record and submit Workgroup progress monthly to the ELL director– ELL team will meet monthly to review Workgroup progress and

to develop a formal update on the progress of the work – ELL team will conduct monthly reviews of the work as it relates

to the recommendations and reprioritize the recommendations as needed
