Day 1 Cairns to Cooktown

Transfer from your accommodation at 8.45am to the Kuranda Scenic Rail for Gold Class Service as you travel through the tropical rainforest. Lunch at a true Aussie historical pub in the township of Mt Molloy that is rich in mining and timber history. Photo opportunities at the mysterious Black Mountain National Park in addition to learning the ancient history, formation and the Indigenous significance of the mountain.

Accommodation at Mungumby Lodge which is a boutique private wilderness retreat and nature refuge located on the northern edge of the World Heritage Listed Cedar Bay National Park.

Day 2 Cooktown to Cape Tribulation

This morning’s views from Grassy Hill overlook the township of Cooktown and the famous Endeavour River – which are not only beautiful but also rich in history. Visit Cooktown Museum, one of Queensland’s best museums, showcasing the fascinating history of this remarkable town. Enjoy lunch at the Lions Den Hotel famous for its quirky decorations and walls adorned with visitor’s signatures.

Guided walk to Bloomfield Fall. Followed by a walk along Cape Tribulation Beach and up to Kulki lookout enjoying the only place in the world where two World Heritage Areas meet - ‘The Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef’.

Accommodation at the beautiful Heritage Lodge and Spa in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest. This is truly a magical place surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest and located next to the crystal clear waters of Coopers Creek.

Day 3 Cape Tribulation to Cairns

Early guided walk at Jindalba boardwalk to escape the crowds and tour buses. This boardwalk has some of the most pre-historical plants species in the Daintree Rainforest and has an abundance of animal species. Take advantage of the photo opportunity at the Alexandra Lookout with sweeping views towards the Low Isle on the Great Barrier Reef, beyond to Port Douglas and the mountain ranges of Australia’s largest mountain range – The Great Dividing Range. Join a one hour Daintree River Cruise on one of the most bio diverse river systems in the world, rich in wildlife and home to the elusive Saltwater Crocodile. Enjoy lunch and a drink at the quaint Daintree Tea House famous for the personalised service and exotic fruit presentation set amongst the western side of the Daintree Rainforest including Tropical Fruit tasting, presentation and talk.Culture Habitat Tour with the Walker Brothers at Cooya beach and afternoon tea. Join one of the brothers exploring the mudflats and mangrove systems along the beach! Linc and Brandon Walker follow the traditions of their ancestors who, for thousands of years, educated visitors about their Kuku Yalanji culture. This is an unforgettable experience.
