Minutes of quarterly WTA meeting for the period II/2012-13 (July - September, 2012) held withthe representatives of RWF and Zonal Railways/PUs in Rail Bhawan, New Delhi on 10.07.12 has beenuploaded on Indian Railway's website www.indianrailways.gov.in. RWF MINUTES

RWFIBangalore

. Supply performance of RWF/Bangalore was commendable for 1st Quarter of2012-13. RWF supplied 53000 wheels & 26000axles in 1st Quarter.

. It was decided that RWF will produce 1000 loco wheels in 2ndQuarter andconcentrate on supply of loose wheels & axles in this quarter, RWF will beallotted 15000 BG chg. Wheels, 7000 BOXN wheels & 3000 EMU wheels inthis quarter.

. With the availability of forgings & forged axles from MSF and VISL, it hasbeen possible for RWF to increase production of axles. CME/RWF requestedfor additional allocation of BOX 'N' axles.

. Maintenance shutdown of Axle & Wheelshops are to be taken in 3rdquarter.

. EDME/Frt. Requested for the allotment of wheels needed or BLC Wagons(840 mm dia) to Northern Railway.

. Availability of HMS in RWF is to be monitored and ensured.

RWPIBELA

. 1000 BOX "N" wheels allotted in 1st quarter could not be supplied byRWP/BELA..

. During 2ndquarter CAO/WPO indicated that 4000 BOX "N" Wheels will besupplied.

. The Wheelset pressing capacity for BOXN wheel sets is available atRWF/Bangalore. Thus it would be difficult to maintain supply of only BOXNwheels from RWP/Bela when production ofBOXN wheels reaches more than35000/per annum in 2013-14. Thus RWP/Bela must explore possibility ofproducing BG Coaching Wheels.

. CAO/WPO requested zonal Railways to maintain supply of HMS toRWP/BELA.

DSP/SAIL

. DSP supplied only 10776 nos. wheels & 1143 nos. axles during 1st quarteragainst their annual commitment of 68000 wheels & 12000 axles.

. GM/DSP/SAIL assured that in 2nd quarter their supply performance willimprove and atleast 12000 wheels will be supplied in this quarter.

under taken by Railways as requirement projected by Railways is 70 to 80%higher in comparison to consumption during previous years.

. CWM/Matunga requested for additional allotment of BG Coaching wheels. Itwas advised to them that requirement should be supported with indents andsupply will be made as per quantity indented.

2012.. Tender for 909 nos. Kolkatta Metro wheels has opened on 22.06.12.. DME/PU requested for early finalization of tenders for EMU and "8" shaped

wheels and early issue of BG Coaching & MG Coaching Wheels tenders.

Submission of Indents

. All the Railways and Production Units were advised to ensure to submit theirindents for the WTA items for contract Period 2014-15 by 31.07.12. In caserequirement is nil, same may also be confirmed in writing. Instructions forsubmission of indents, position of Buffer stock etc. were detailed in Board'sminutes of the WTA meeting held on 13.04.12 circulated vide Board's letterof even no. dated 03.05.12.

Other issues

. ICF & RCF were requested to use Cast EMU wheels for trail or coaches.

The position regarding supplies made by RWF during the previous quarter Le.April- June, 2012 was discussed. The same is tabulated as under:-

RWF supplied 53000 wheels & 26000 axles in 1st Quarter.It was decided that RWF will produce 1000 loco wheels in 2nd Quarter andconcentrate on supply of loose wheels & axles in this quarter, RWF will be allotted15000 BG chg. Wheels, 7000 BOXN wheels & 3000 EMU wheels in this quarter.With the availability of forgings & forged axles from MSF and VISL, it has beenpossible for RWF to increase production of axles. Submission of Indents

. All the Railways and Production Units were advised to ensure to submit theirindents for the WTA items for contract Period 2014-15 by 31.07.12. In caserequirement is nil, same may also be confirmed in writing. Instructions forsubmission of indents, position of Buffer stock etc. were detailed in Board'sminutes of the WTA meeting held on 13.04.12 circulated vide Board's letter ofeven no. dated 03.05.12.

Other issues

. ICF & RCF were requested to use Cast EMU wheels for trailor coaches.

The position regarding supplies made by Mis SAIL/DSP during the previousquarter i.e. April - June, 2012 was discussed. The same is tabulated as under:-

Thus it would be difficult to maintain supply of only BOXNwheels from RWP/Bela when production ofBOXN wheels reaches more than35000/per annum in 2013-14. Thus RWP/Bela must explore possibility ofproducing BG Coaching Wheels.

. CAO/WPO requested zonal Railways to maintain supply of HMS toRWP/BELA.

. DSP supplied only 10776 nos. wheels & 1143 nos. axles during 1stquarteragainst their annual commitment of 68000 wheels & 12000 axles.
