As you may be aware, as-per directions of the Hon ble Supreme Court ofIndia, the VGC has prepared the Regulations on curbing the menace of ragging inHigher Educational Institutions, 2009 which have been approved by theCommission in its meeting held on 04th June, 2009. I am directed to enclose a copyof the above Regulations in English Hindi, sent for publication in the Gazette ofIndia for your information and necessary action. .. -.rThe above regulations are mandatory and shall apply to all Universities

established or incorporated by or under a Central Act, a Provincial Act.or aState/Union Territory Act and all Institutions recognised by or affiliated to suchUniversities and all Institutions deemed to be Universities under Section (3) of theUGC Act, 1956 with effect from the date of its Publication in the official Gazette.
