Educators need our support more than ever.School budgets are tight, and many studentsare not performing at their grade level. Toomany kids think that school is not interestingor relevant, so they drop out. Improvingeducation by increasing inspiration,preparation and teacher excellence is anational priority.
Hands-on education can be instru-mental in helping to prepare kids tocompete in a global market. It translatesabstract and complex subjects into activitiesthat students can grasp. It is a provenapproach for engaging students, andboosting subject comprehension.

Through our members, RAFT impacts over 850,000 kids each year. Over half a million hands-on idea sheets are alsodownloaded annually from RAFT’s website,transforming the learning experience forstudents across the globe.
To make hands-on teaching affordable,RAFT partners with thousands of companies to collect surplus materials that are re-purposed into project supplies and hands-on education kits. RAFT has collected over one million cubic feetof materials that would otherwise havebeen disposed of in landfills. A certified“green” organization, RAFT is
committed to preserving theenvironment.
To inspireteachers, RAFThas createdhundreds ofhands-onidea sheets andactivity kits that aremapped to required cur-riculum standards. RAFT kitsare assembled with the help ofcorporate and community volunteers,who donate over 30,000 hours each year.
