This semester I have focused mainly on energy and deep energy retrofits. 3 classes deal withenergy modeling. For the Elliot Donelly project, we worked as a team to measure the existingbuilding, mechanical, electrical, and useages. From there we set off to design specific changes to help the building’s performance as well as visual appeal. I am using Ecotect & Vasari to model.

Cost breakdownThis was a project where I directly dealt with the client and met their needs along the design process. The client bought an existing frame building and wanted to add the maximum additionallowable via zoning. We dealt with zoning adjustments and I had to justify the square footagevia zoning allowable FAR. From there it was a gut rehab with an addition and underpinning ofa basement. The client is now satisfied with the drawings and they are being sent through thebidding and permit process. The drawings included a full set, from design to construction documents, including MEP, Framing, Sections, Details, and Zoning along w/ Light & Vent Calcs.

MINIMUM LIMITS AND NOT THE ENTIRE SCOPE OF WORK. REMOVED. THUS, THE PURPOSE OF THESE DRAWINGS IS TO SHOW THE IMPLIES THAT ALL MINOR ITEMS COINCIDENT WITH THE MAJOR ITEM BE HEREIN IS TO CONVEY THE MAJOR ITEMS TO BE REMOVED, BUT ALSO DEMOLITION. THE INTENT OF THE DEMOLITION NOTES CONTAINED

This project was very interesting and enjoyable. It was an opportunity to explore and learnhow to work with a big timber frame structure. The project required us to design a dwelling fora family of four. The site was a beachside location along Lake Michigan. My design incorporated a Mesian style home raised off of the ground to avoid any possible flooding. The home is dividedinto three regions, public, private, and transitional space. The transitional space also acts as anoutdoor covered patio with cross breeze ventilation, which helps passively cool and ventilatethe home. In this project I helped finalize the design and proceeded to produce a full set of drawings. I started withzoning analysis to maximize floor area for the client. Once the design was complete I produced full construction documents including floor plans, sections, elevations, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing,Framing, and all necessary calculations that went with those. There was some team involvement in some stages, but I was mainly the one working on production of drawings. The prioject is in the process of getting permitted and built.

We dealt with zoning adjustments and I had to justify the square footagevia zoning allowable FAR. From there it was a gut rehab with an addition and underpinning ofa basement. The client is now satisfied with the drawings and they are being sent through thebidding and permit process. The drawings included a full set, from design to construction documents, including MEP, Framing, Sections, Details, and Zoning along w/ Light & Vent Calcs.

Final elevations per owner requests

This was a project I did for a client who purchased an existing chapel, and wanted to convince the zoning administration and mayor of Bridgeview, IL to allow him to convert it to a dealership with minor changes. I workedwith the client from day one to ensure that he got what he wanted. The presentation board was presented to theboard of administators at the village hall and they approved the addition. The scope of work includes new parking,an awning over the entry, stone veneer for additional curb appeal, new trim details,new roof, new windows/doors, and reconfiguring the interior. This semester I have focused mainly on energy and deep energy retrofits. 3 classes deal withenergy modeling. For the Elliot Donelly project, we worked as a team to measure the existingbuilding, mechanical, electrical, and useages. From there we set off to design specific changes to help the building’s performance as well as visual appeal. I am using Ecotect & Vasari to model.
