The new GMDSS VHF DSC Class A Radio-telephone 6222 offers simplex/semi-duplexcommunications. It is a vital tool for dailyoperation and has been developed for theharshmaritimeenvironment.

The VHF 6222 provides flexibility throughstraightforward installation, either as part of aGMDSS console or on its own. As a result ofimproved high performance and innovativeeasy-to-usefunctionalitytheradiooffersimpor-tantoperationalenhancements.

TheVHF 6222introducesseveralnewhardwareand software improvements, including an im-provedreplayfunctionality.Thehighlyadvanced3.2”QVAdisplayfacilitatesreadabilityregardlessoflightconditionsonthebridgeatdayornight.The text can be displayed as white on blackbackground or as black on white backgroundto provide the optimal reading condition indaylight.Aredbacklightprotectsthenightvisionoftheuser.

The VHF 6222 is waterproof according to IPx6and IPx8, making installations possible on openworkboatsoroutsidedeckareas.

The VHF 6222 complies with DSC Recommen-dations ITU-R M.493-13 and ITU-R M.541-9for DSC Class A VHF radios, which are part ofthe technical performance standards for SOLASvesselsandmanynationalGMDSSrequirements.
